Location was great. In town to find an apartment. Sidewalks torn up In Front of hotel but nothing that can't be overcome. Air unit room didn't work the best. Great restaurants all around. Wonderful town (Evanston) to be in but property has room for improvement.

Nice hotel with reasonable price

Posted Jul 22, 2014
The room we were in was pretty decent in size. The climatisation is unexceptional but as expected for a regular decently priced hotel. The wifi was pretty good though for some reason there were some wifi channel that were having better connection that I could connect to but I could'nt access. The parking is not free; you have to pay 15$ dollars a day to park your car in their interior garage but I can understand since the hotel garage is probably big enough to host 1 car for each room. The hotel staff is very respectuous, some of them being quite friendly. The Hotel is really close to a cta subway line which is great if you want to go downtown without taking your car and getting into trafic. This hotel serves the best free breakfast experience I have ever seen by havin g lots of choice passing from 3-4 varieties of bagel, to having a easy to use waffle maker, eggs, yogourt and lots of type of beverages to choose from

Night staff & Sam were great. One particular custodian was savior. Elevator broke & he immediately came to get us out & even took me back to room. Doing construction which was pain but didn't ruin vacation.

The internet connection up in the rooms was extremely poor. In order to actually use my computer, I had to go down into the lobby.

Okay hotel

Pros: View of downtown Chicago. Convenience to NU, shops, and restaurants.
Cons: Parking structure.
Location: Many great restaurants and shops nearby.
Nothing special, but the hotel is clean and safe. Entrance from the parking garage is kind of spooky, but I've stayed there enough to get used to it. The breakfast is passable. The staff was pleasant.

okay hotel near university campus

Posted May 27, 2014
Location: There was a good selection of restaurants in the area (both fast food and sit-down). The lake provided a great walking experience.
It was located near several restaurant choices and campus.

Average hotel. Not far from purple line. Hotel safe friendly. Hotel seemed a little out dated. $14 for parking.

Needs an upgrade

Posted May 22, 2014
I came in to town for a concert and wanted to be close enough to the venue to walk to it (SPACE on Chicago Ave) so this fit the bill perfectly. The bed was comfortable and room was clean but everything is sorely in need of an upgrade. As others have noted, there is an "off" smell in the lobby which has cheap looking furnishings and tired carpeting. The room was similarly dingy aside from the crisp white bedding. The parking garage was sketchy and did not have good lighting or smooth pathways, and there is a passage that seems an ideal mugging spot. Best Western, this is a prime location close to both downtown Evanston and the revitalized area of Chicago Ave between Dempster and Main street. Upgrade this property or sell to someone who will.
