Very small room but comfortable. Some furnishings showing wear & tear. No fan in bathroom. Quiet room.

Great Location, Great Staff, Great Water!

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Through Expedia
Cons: Extra towels in the room. There were only two provided for two people.
Everyone talks about the "chilled water" that is available and free at this hotel and it really is a bonus. What we liked was the friendly helpful staff, the great location: close to all the sights yet not in the middle of the noise! When I come back to Chicago, I plan to stay here.

Nice hotel close to many attractions

Posted Aug 25, 2014
This was our first time in Chicago. My husband and I were very happy with our stay at the Central Loop Hotel. We were in walking distance from Millennium Park, Michigan Ave., the Chicago River and even Navy Pier. The hotel was clean. We stayed in one of the "small" rooms. And while it was small, it was quite comfortable and clean. For all the more time we spent in the hotel, it was perfect. The hotel was also very quite. Aside from occasionally hearing the neighbors door close, it was quite. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the staff, Amy, helped us through finding the best way to and from the United Center, which is only a short cab or bus ride from the hotel. She also recommended an app called Uber that lets you reserve a cab right from your phone. I highly recommend it. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel, Elephant and Castle, has great food. We had appetizers and drinks there one afternoon and breakfast there one morning. Using the South Loop garage to park our car was also convenient. It's only a block away from the hotel, so it's easy to carry your luggage. They also validate your parking so you don't have to pay the full price. It was about half of what it normally would have been. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Chicago!

Not what we expected

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: It was clean and it was quiet on a Monday and Tuesday night.
Location: OK but a local map would have been nice.
It was OK but not great. My husband and I had reservations but I had to ask for a bath towel as there was only 1. I did not expect a window in the bathroom but an exhaust fan would have helped. Shower steam hung from the ceiling and dropped on the floor after leaving the bathroom. That makes life slippery not to mention a breeding ground for mold. The room was "small" and really set up for 1 person. There was no drinking water in our room but there was a place near the elevator to fill a water bottle. For late arrivals the only close food was a very noisy bar next door. We were told there was a sort of 'recreation' room that had sodas. That would be OK but you only have Pepsi products and we are Coke fans. We set out to find a bus to the Museum of Science and Industry. The girl at the desk said on State street but gave us the wrong bus number. We learned from strangers we needed the 10 as it is an express to the museum. On returning, I tried to tell the desk that what people need is the 10 and that person started whining that they can't possible know all the buses. That seemed very abrupt and bordered on 'couldn't be bothered'.

Steps away from CTA

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: everything
Cons: everything was perfect
Location: Everything is closeby, shopping, parks, restaurants, theaters, subway stops
This was a great location and our room was very nice. Exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this for anyone and the blue line which comes from OHare stops at Jackson is only a 2 minute walk to the hotel. Very convenient for arrival and departure. Other lines are also close by. You can print boarding passes from the basement lounge.

Tiny and basic

It's a good one-night-stay kind of hotel. Very basic and very small. Best for just one person. For the price point, it is fine...but, just for one night.

Centrally located!!

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Clean, safe, comfortable beds, good wifi.
Location: Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain, Millenium Park, Giordano's Pizza, Willis Tower
The hotel is centrally located and easy walking distance to all the attractions along the lake. The rooms are smaller than other "chain" hotels but at the same time, the price makes up the difference. The beds were SUPER comfortable and it was very nice to have chilled, filtered water available on your way in and out of the hotel (along with empty bottles to fill). Overall we had a great experience and didn't even notice too much noise despite being in downtown Chicago.
