“Great price - fantastic pool - perfect for a family sightseeing stay!!”
The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, eager to please, knowledgeable, and very friendly! Our room was wonderfully attended to - nicely neat, comfortable, & clean. A definite highlight for our family was the hotel's swimming pool. The location is fantastic for sight-seeing. It is close to the Shedd Aquarium, the Planetarium, the Field Museum, The Art Institute, Millennium Park, & Navy Pier. Oh, and did I mention it offers free shuttles? Fantastic hotel -- our family will be back!
“Friendly Staff”
It was my parent's anniversary and I wanted to surprise them by upgrading their room to one with a great view of the park and the lake. I mentioned it at the front desk- fully prepared to pay for an upgrade- and the kind gentleman upgraded their room for no charge. My parents were over the moon with their view and larger room. The beds are very comfortable, and although small, the rooms are perfect for a one or two night stay.
“OK Hotel”
Hotel was very clean, however the temperature in the room was about unbearable. The heater was on when we arrived in the room and it never cooled down. Also, the hotel is a little bit further from the shopping and Millenium Park than what I had hoped for.
“Great location, small older hotel, but decent.”
Stayed here for RSNA 2011. Extremely convenient - only the Best Western Grant Park is closer to the electric Metra stop (Museum Campus/11th St stop - RSNA gives you a free Metra pass for a few local stops, including this one), and that hotel looked a bit shabbier, although similar. The on-site restaurant was nice, casual but classy with a decent set of draft beer taps (local/regional brews). My only complaint was that the room (5th floor corner king suite) was quite cold - the heating system could not keep up with the heat loss through the otherwise very nice floor-to-ceiling windows - not when the winds whip down Michigan Avenue! But this is one of the lower-cost stays during RSNA, and I would come again.
“Liked the location”
Liked being on South Michigan avenue closer to historic Chicago. We could take the shuttle north, or walk if enough time. The service at this hotel was good. Have to give a shout out to Ray, the shuttle driver. I really enjoyed his stories and information as he drove us. He even offered to pick us up when we were done shopping. We felt like VIPs! The pool was great. The kids loved it. My daughter liked the workout room, although had to wait for the one treadmill. The room was small, but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in it. The beds were very comfortable. The only complaint was it seemed to be an old heating/ac system. It was hot the first night and the controls could not be adjusted. We did not use the valet parking. There was a nearby lot for half the price, so we were happy about that. Would stay here again. Rate was fair for what we got.
“Gross!!!!”
We were put in a small room straight off the elevator. Bed was small and I barely fit in the bathroom. We were then moved to a better quality, CORNER room, after my husband killed a bug (left the proof) and another got away. Lots of dirt behind end tables too. Corner room was SO MUCH BETTER but bathroom was still small. For the price of this hotel and location we COULD have stayed in a Marriot, Hyatt or then some. UGH. Bartenders and Front Desk people not too happy
“not the best”
The lady at the front desk was not very kind to us she seemed to be in a bad mood. The best part of the hotel was the pool. The rest of the place was rather small.
“Poor quality, good location”
Hotel was not maintained well. Tub in the bathroom constantly leaked and was very small. Can plainly hear the street traffic even from the 12th floor. Generally overpriced for the quality of the rooms, however it is centrally located for museums or the McCormick Convention building.
“will go back”
Great location and the pool was nice.
“Met our needs”
Not a hotel to knock your socks off, but it gets the job done. Easy access to Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Soldier Field.
