Great location and view of the river. Convenient location by the bus stops and Michigan Ave. Small rooms, but the free bottled water was very nice.

Great room - view of riverPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: The old-time charm mixed with cleanliness and modern amenities.
Cons: Would love to see the complimentary snacks continue through the weekend.
We checked in early and asked for a room with a view of the river. They were wonderful and gave us a room that was in the smaller section of the tower, we had a 360 degree view of the city, including the river. We got off at the last stop of the elevator and walked up another floor. We were the only guests on that floor. We loved it. We also enjoyed the free snacks and espressos and lattes that were available on the 2nd floor. We loved the location and the ease to which we could walk to the theater district, Millennium Park, ride on the river, or walk to the shops and restaurants nearby. The Navy Pier was a $5 taxi ride and we got to the see the fireworks. Overall, the hotel and location helped make the visit in Chicago a big success and my teenage daughter can't wait to travel with me again!

Best LocationPosted Aug 31, 2014
Cons: Little shabby
Location: Best restaurants 2 bridges away, right opposite river, 10 min. walk to lakefront and Navy Pier
Hotel wasn't the best in décor but the location made up for it, right in the middle of everything. Staff were happy to direct us to restaurants although the hotel has one of the best Italian rest. on the premises. All I all for a one night stay it was perfect.

My bedroom is larger than the hotel rooms!!Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and speedy service.
Upon opening the door, we were taken aback by how small the room was. After that we realized that there was only one washcloth in the bathroom. I made a call to the front desk and literally within five minutes additional washcloths and towels were delivered to the room. That was good as we wanted to shower after our long trip. Although I realize that it is an older hotel, the chairs and tables in the downstairs restaurant were quite worn out and the décor (wallpaper, fixtures, etc.) were in pretty bad shape. I would stay there again; however, I just wouldn't expect so much, even though it is a downtown Chicago hotel.

Okay hotel just to sleep.Posted Aug 21, 2014
Staff were great. Great location. Rooms super small but was fine for just two people to sleep. My bed looked like a king but was two single mattresses put together. Questionable whether or not sheets were cleaned as there were stains on a pillow and smelled like mans cologne so we put a shirt over it and slept on that. We reserved 2 separate rooms but our room were on different floors, thought they would put them at least on the same floor.
