“Very Affordable and great location”

Last minute reservation. easy to find from interstate. Very curtious staff Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food.

“Great location and good price”

Good place to stay if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room, and who would, because it is a little "close." It was a great location and reasonably priced. Staff were very accomodating; breakfast was outstanding; parking very simplified. I will go again!

Magnificient Mile is only blacks away, great restaurants are plentiful.

“Convenient for visiting Chicagoland -easy walking to all, transpo”

We loved the historic building, room was functional but we weren't in it much and the view was very nice, sirens very loud but that is city noise. We loved this hotel for the complimentary hot breakfast and the great location - we were able to walk easily to many attractions and catch bus, el, subway to others. The concierge service was great - we used it for directions and for tickets and for information. Quartino around the corner was recommended and we ate there mutilple times, suggestion by staff at check-in. We would stay here again if visiting Chicago! THere was a workout room and a hot tub downstairs but we never used it while there. We didn't have a car, so I don't know about parking-but we didn't miss a car due to the awesome transpo system.

Area recommendations

I think we were in the perfect location to walk to, or easily take public transpo, all major tourist areas. We easily walked to the Hancock observatory, Mag Mile, Navy Pier via lakefront and Ohio St beach; we walked to Loop area, river cruises, Lou Minalti's pizza, Hard Rock cafe. We took bus 146 to THe Field Museum area and bus 6 to the Museum of Science and Industry. We walked to catch our river cruises and were picked up at hotel for our Grayline cruise of CHicagoland -North and South (4 hours),

“Good value”

The hotel was a good value. The bed was comfortable and linens were clean. The continental breakfast was adequate and convenient. The room itself was small and the chairs had stains on them. Wireless is only in certain areas of the hotel. Finally, there was no closet.

“Room was a closet!”

This hotel is OLD. The room was uncomfortably small - the queen size bed barely fit! The elevator just fit two people with a suitcase. The lobby was dark and dank. All in all, this place was down right creepy. This was advertised as a nice middle of the road place, it was not. I wouldn't have taken this room for free, much less paid for it had I known the truth.

“excellent location”

We enjoyed our stay, despite a challenging heat wave. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We would go back with no hesitation. The location was excellent for touring Chicago's downtown.
