Great hotel, noce staff, always willing to help. Clean rooms with a nice bathroom. The pool was closed during our stay but it's all good. Breakfast was decent. Definitely recommended if you happen to be in the area.

Clean & Basic But Some Issues

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The nightly rate of $53
Cons: See write up above.
Location: We spent the afternoon in Downer's Grove, a quaint nearby suburban village, shopping at the local mom & pop stores. Especially liked Anderson's Books
We received a discounted rate for this hotel at $53 for one night. While the room was clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast was adequate, I'm glad we only stayed one night. The hotel is older and has the feel of one that just needs some sprucing up. Upon arrival to our room, we noticed an musty odor & discovered that the deadbolt on our door was broken. The front desk did send up someone to "fix" the deadbolt, which required much loud hammering at 10 p.m. which I'm sure our neighbors didn't appreciate. The maintenance person did get the lock in working order so we slept more soundly knowing that no one could enter our room while we slept. The windows were so gummed up between the panes that one could not see anything through them. There was also no trash can next to the toilet which is a necessity in my opinion, especially when there are young ladies & women staying in the room who might have feminine products they wish to dispose of without carrying out to the room trash for all to see. In addition, the toilet was smaller than standard & was very close to the ground (no it was not a bidet). The front desk did allow us an extra 30 minutes at check out and the staff was friendly. I would stay again if I needed a room in the area for one night and could get the same rate, but would not have been happy if I'd paid more than $53 for this basic room.

Stayed for a week, room was fine, would have been better to start b/fast before 6am. Or at least have coffee ready. Overall the place worked out.

Love the size of the room. Nice and roomy! Plenty of places to eat, shop. A little off the main route which isn't all that bad.

WOW

Pros: The staff and quietness...price
Location: Not much nearby
Hotel contacted me letting me know that they needed my double bed and they moved me to a single bed room...turned out they gave me a suite which was much better than I expected. Generally located what should be 25-30 minutes from DT Chicago but allow for traffic as there will be plenty. Stay was great...staff was very friendly and the general ambiance was relaxed. An excellent stay.
