Unique, authentic, and warm

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The ambience first, but location was a high priority too as we wanted to walk everywhere.
Cons: Microwave availability.
Location: Buckingham Fountain, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, John Hancock Building Observatory (35 min), Yolk for brunch, famous Pizano's Pizza..
If you like something unique, rather than your traditional style hotel, then stay here. It may be old but it was clean. This hotel has SO much character. The warm, stately, old-fashioned decor made me feel as though I were in England. .

Pros: Nothing
Location: Location is amazing☺
Tried for reasonable price but it is relative I guess during a busy week. Not a good experience for me in chicago If you can avoid this place do it. Needs new ownership and major major work

Excelente ubicación y personal muy eficiente.

Posted May 20, 2015

Always stay at the Congress

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: Friendly, fast check in and check out.
Cons: Temperature of the room. T.V. sometimes doesn't work well and the water pressure in our room this last time was very low.
Location: My son's college is nearby which makes that very convenient. So many things to do and great restaurants nearby.
We travel to Chicago 4-6 times a year and always stay at the Congress. We think of it as our home away from home.

Good location-good price- do not go if it is cold

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: lobby - staff - price -location
Cons: rooms redone - heat control in room s - Chicago can be 40 degrees and Windy in May !
Location: Close to Grant Park - Museums - restaurants -
Room drab - no heat control - was unseasonably cold in May - room chilly - needed extra blankets - ok for being on a budget . Staff good . I would try another reasonable hotel closer to Magnificent Mile next time .

Large rooms but very worn. Low beds with footboard sticking out was tripping hazard. No sheer window coverings so either dark in room or looking at rooms directly across. Mold/mildew around tub. Shower curtain up so high shower water ran directly onto the floor.
