“Will only stay @ The Conrad while in Chicago!”

We go to Chicago 3x year for 3 to 4 nights. We are in our 50's and have stayed @ numerous places advertised on the web. They were 4-5 * however when one arrives, the room were substandard and staff were rude. Conrad is consistent on superior service, staff and suitable upgrades in their bedding and towels. Safe convenient location. No more risking deals on various hotels in Chicago. We only book @ the Conrad!

“Luxurious!!!”

What a gorgeous, well maintained hotel! Rooms are beautiful, spacious, and relaxing. Staff very attentive and polite. Very quiet and easy to sleep. Would be back next week if time allowed!!

“Great hotel!”

In the heart of downtown! Great location for shopping and dining! Our stay was wonderful until we tried to get out of the parking ramp. We had paid for the "parking package" with our hotel room and when we checked in the front desk employee took our parking ticket and said that she validated it for in/out privileges for 24 hours. Less than 18 hours later when we attempted to leave the parking ramp, the machine was requiring us to pay the parking charge again. The cars behind us were not at all happy to have to wait for us to get the situation rectified (there is no attendant at the exit). After a ramp official came out to our car, he allowed us to leave without having to pay again. Just something to be aware of if you stay and include the parking package.

“Great location!”

This hotel has a lot going for it. The location is amazing, as the hotel is right next to Michigan Avenue and two blocks from the Chicago River. A mall is connected to the hotel with a Nordstrom's as its anchor. The subway is a two minute walk...it takes you straight to both ballparks. That being said, the hotel could have been a bit better in that to get out of the place, we had to switch elevators. Also, my floor's ice macjine didn't work throughout the stay. The hotel also is very overpriced in terms of its food options. That being said, there are great restuarants around for all price ranges, and none of the inconveniences would prevent me from coming back.

Area recommendations

Too many places to mention. Wrigleyville on game day is a must. The beaches and bike path along the lake are beautiful. If possible, take the train out to Evanston (end of redline, which is two blocks from hotel), to see one of the nicest college campuses/towns in America.

“Everything but breakfast”

This is the second time I have taken a small group to the Conrad for a 1 day meeting. The hotel is well located at the south end of the Magnificent Mile. People are very accommodating and friendly. Room was clean and reasonably sized. Bed was very comfortable. The reservation came with the "american breakfast" which sounded like a good deal. There was a small rush at breakfast and our order got lost, taking 35 minutes for 6 plates of eggs and some sausage. Wait staff apologized and brought a free fruit plate, but we were nonetheless miffed as it marred an otherwise great visit. I would certainly return, but recommend skipping breakfast at peak times.

Area recommendations

North Michigan is a Chicago classic for upscale shopping and eating. The entire neighborhood is walkable and busy with a real city vibe. If you have a daughter, go to American Girls. A short taxi ride north takes you to Lincoln Park which has a great zoo, more shopping, and lots of ethnic restaurants. You can people watch along the lake front.
