Good location if coming by trainPosted May 5, 2014
Pros: Large room for the price and the location is good.
My only problem was my lack of staff and finding where to go. Not being familiar with Habitat Suites, and the fact that its a very large apartment building, and you are renting one of the apartment, mixed in with the residence. There is no Hotel staff only a desk downstairs to drop the keys when you leave, any questions must be made by calling them. Our problem was not understanding this and the confusion it caused when we first arrived. You must find somewhere to park and not being sure where to go added to the confusion. There is a very large parking structure across the street that is connected to the towers and you must carry your stuff through the structure and hope you can figure out where to walk. The room was nice but not like a regular Hotel,no hairdryer,no one to make the beds. Now that we understand how this works and where things are I would still return. Just be prepared

Recommend these central located apartments.Posted Mar 21, 2013
Cons: Pool and exercise equipment on bottom floors by arrangement. Less suitable for young families; no "play areas".
These apartments have adequately equipped kitchens for long term stay and are in a location which is is quite convenient: within a 10 minute walk to the loop area, next to the railway station, on the bus line to Michigan Ave east or United center west, and adjacent to an I-94 exit/entrance. Daily maid serve was by arrangement. The upper levels on the city side have a stupendous view, and the lower level has inside access to an upscale mini-Walmart, McDonald's and several other businesses. With about 2200 apartments in four towers, there is a variety of mostly younger professional or professionally aspiring occupants who were quite friendly and many of international backgrounds. Several layers of suit-dressed security persons at concierge desks existed, but the neighborhood appeared reasonably safe for single persons to walk to street destinations at will. It did take a little longer to get to one's room through security. Other than what was in the building, one would have to walk several blocks into the city for pubs or restaurants, but taxi's were always available though the captain. An attached convenient garage for autos was available for public city rates.

Pre-Christmas vacationPosted Dec 22, 2010
The hotel was well located for my purposes. However, owing to the current refurbishing, all the expected amenities were not available. There were some repair needs in the room: one was taken care of immediately (dripping faucet) and one was never fixed (TV) although I requested this repair twice in four days. Especially notable was the lack of the (previously available) grocery shopping facility. I hope this will be rectified in future. Checking out was problematic, owing to the absence of a person at the desk. This led to some difficulty as there were outstanding issues to be solved.

our own apartment!Posted Jun 2, 2010
I was pretty nervous after reading some reviews of this hotel. After doing some checking on other places we decided that we couldn't beat the price so we would give it a try. I am so happy that we did! It really wasn't a room, rather an apartment. Large bedrooms, nice kitchen, huge closets in the master bedroom The master bedroom had a king sized bed, the other room had a full or queen. We all agreed that it was nicer than our houses! There were 2 couples staying in the apartment and we never felt crowded. Location was a little off of the main track, but nothing was more than a little walk or cab ride away. There really wasn't much as far as staff or housekeeping, but this was never an issue. The room was fully stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. The main desk person was very nice and helpful, as were the front door men. There was one man at the security check point who was rude, but overall everyone was nice. Make sure everyone in your party has their own security card, as you will need one every time you enter the building. The kitchen had everything we needed and was so nice to use. Parking was connected to the complex by a walkway, and was reasonable. The pool and fitness room looked really nice sadly we never had time to use them. We all agreed that when we go back to Chicago there is no question that we will stay here again.

Nice apartment at a convenient locationPosted May 12, 2010
The apartment is very well-equipped and maintained. It is comfortable and central, if you need to work downtown Chicago.
