Way overpriced for quality.

The location was great, however the hotel not so much. The pool was way cloudy, fitness center was all of 3 machines 1 of which was broken. There was no do not disturb sign in our room, so we came back from eating Panera Bread and the housekeeper was in our room, all of our stuff left out and all. Overall way overpriced for what it was!

Not really all that pleased

Pros: There was a microwave in the room. That was nice.
The hotel was fine. Not the best, but not the worst. I didn't expect much more from a hotel next to an expressway, but what was extremely frustrating is that they charged my credit card for the stay the morning of our check in. I've NEVER had that happen before, especially with a hotel that wasn't a pre-paid stay. When we checked in, we gave a different credit card for them to use for the room charge. (I've done this MANY times before at other hotels and have never had an issue.) Apparently they can't follow instructions because they still charged the card put down to hold the room instead of the card given at check in. Why would we give you a different card at check in and say "Put the room on this card" if we wanted you to charge the card we held the room on? The continental breakfast the next morning was also "eh" for me. I had a little cereal and that was about it, but again, I didn't expect much more.

Confusing check in

At check in there was a lot of confusion, people being sent to check into rooms that were already occupied. The room was comfortable but not exceptionally clean. The breakfast was good.

staff horrible

Cons: staff, management , maintance
had issues with plumbing and 2 different staff were not able to help at all no maintance, no manager and so solutions. Had to call corpotate after check out. toilet did not work in one room and sink did not work in another and the staff just said sorry there is nothing i can do. we were lied to about maintance comming in morning. the worst staff i have ever dealt with.

Stay away from Country Inn and Suites in Matteson

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Hire new staff and build new building.
Hotel staff appeared incompetent. Room was not clean. Carpeting in room was filthy and sticky spots all around. Water in pool looked green. Breakfast food was not good and area was not clean.

Easy city access

We picked this hotel because it's on the outskirts of Chicago but had easy highway access to get downtown quickly. Surrounding area has nice shopping too. Front desk was always asking us how things were as we came and went.

A dirty dump

Our room was dirty and smelled like dust. The hotel is under renovation and it needs it. The staff was nice but the bed was lumpy and the dust bunnies in our room was disgusting.

A Hotel Re-opening after a Period of Closure

Pros: Location to events I was in-town to attend.
Cons: The hotel needs to be clear on the website that it is undergoing major renovations. The experience compared to the pictures online was disappointing.
Location: Lots of restaurants. Excellent proximity to I-57.
This was a terrible experience. I did not know that the hotel was reopening after a long period of closure. This should have been clear on the home website and expedia. The rooms and hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burns on the toilet seat, bedroom headboard, and shower curtain. The carpet and furniture were in terrible need of replacement. The living room area of the suite was hot with only a creaky/taped up overhead fan to cool the room. The bedroom area was ice cold with the control unit being difficult to use. There were newer mattresses and newer flat screen televisions. The exterior doors and any of the doors to the laundry and pool area were rusted, ajar, and generally in need of replacement. The hotel staff offered no apology for the state of the hotel and were unhelpful with resolving issues with the laundry detergent dispenser. Based upon the staff, I would never book here again. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn next door. It was much nicer with better staff.

motel with ants and no air conditioning

Pros: It was convenient where we needed to be for the weekend.
Cons: cleanliness
Check in was ok but after that the whole experience deteriated. We had ants in the bathroom both nights, an air conditioner that didn't work, a room that wasn't properly clean like lots of cob webs. The pool was crowded with unsupervised children which was clearly against their stated policy at the front desk. At the front desk the floor was dirty, the curtains were trying to fall down and their was more dirt going up the stairway. The motel won't refund money or even a portion because of booking through Expedia. Guess what Expedia won't refund any either. Both offered coupons or discounts for next stays with them. I won't use Expedia again and I won't go back to this hotel either.
