The front counter employee gave me keys to an occupied room, i walked in on someone in the bathroom and got screamed at by a complete stranger. Was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I'd like some sort of compensation if possible. Completely unnecessary.

Very disappointed, pictures and amenities said there was a hot tub and breakfast included. There was no hot tub and no breakfast. This were 2 of the reasons why we stayed at this hotel. Will not book with them again.

Our smoke detector chirped all night.i notified staff but guessing they were unable to change the batteries. One of the lights in the room didn’t work. The walls are VERY THIN. Overall it was nice but probably won’t stay there again.

Ok for the price. Pool clean. Workout area, room and lobby clean. A little dated. Maid service only upon request on weekends. Requested twice, never cleaned. Front desk immediately provided towels, toilet paper and soap upon request. Shouldnt have to ask twice. No breakfast available, just coffee. 100 feet from nice breakfast restaurant.

Was on third floor and the first two nights the third floor hallway really smelled like cigarette smoke terrible.should put a couple of plastic cups for use at sink. Otherwise room was clean and comfortable

The facility was clean, with convenient extras like an iron/steamer and hair dryer in the room. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I was there for a wedding, and they were kind enough to hand out bags to the guests, and set up a conference room for the bridal party to get hair and makeup done. They also provided a shuttle service for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re getting married in the area.

What was enjoyed was the amenities, the quietness and privacy and the front desk staff/housekeeping. What was not liked was limited dining, no breakfast, entrance is hidden, should have another exit/entrance in the back to make it easier. Nice staff, great location… nice room…. The only thing is that even though it says it has breakfast unfortunately they currently don’t due to staffing issues.

Rooms smelled, some like mildew and some like weed. Front desk staff was not overly friendly, we checked in around 8:30pm and man at desk acted like we were an inconvenience for him.

Great rooms but they dont have breakfast. Their website says that they offer breakfast but they have not finized the paperwork to sell breakfast according to an employee.

I have stayed at this property before, this stay was not up to my standards based on visits prior. This visit my card had multiple unexplained additional charges adding up to $334,(the charges did not include my room, taxes and fees or the deposit hold) I brought this to the attention of the manager who told me that it’s not his problem, I can google a corporate number to complain, he could give me an email to the owner, threw his glasses aggressively in my direction and then stated that I stay here too often. They clearly have video cameras aimed in out direction so I can only hope that footage has audio and can be reviewed because his behavior was not appropriate on top of the fraudulent charges on my account which clearly identify themselves as coming from sonesta Elgin. I would recommend that nobody utilizes this establishment due to their ineffective management and shady business practices. I would like to say that the one and only shining star at this facility is Beverly, she is and always has been kind and helpful.
