“Courtyard Marriott Waukegan/Gurnee...if going to Great Lakes NTC”

For those family memebers looking to stay in the general vicinity of Great Lakes Naval Training Center for boot camp graduation.....this is the place to go. The hotel is 10 minutes away from NTC and is a clean, friendly place with excellent location. Its a no-brainer...easy decision.

“For Navy Boot Camp Graduation”

This hotel is very conveniently located. There is a Denny's, Starbucks, Pot Belly's, Walmart and several other resturants within walking distance. It is very close to the RTC. The hotel is very clean and the staff if very helpful. It is focused around Friday graduations.

“Great for Naval families!”

Be sure to have a map and don't count on internet directions. This hotel was so nice to give us a packet with directions to local attractions. More important, they are VERY hospitable to Navy graduation people and gave us a packet to advise us on how to make it to graduation on time. I recommend the shuttle. Its 6.00 round trip and well spent.

“We will be back in September”

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When we checked in they gave us a booklet with all the local info we needed for our nephew's Navy Bookcamp Graduation. We will be back in September for our son's Navy Graduation...

“Great service, but need a good restaurant”

This hotel was great as far as service, but really dropped the ball in not having a great restaurant in the hotel. They do have a breakfast buffet but could use to spruce it up a bit... there was not a whole lot to choose from and the scrambled eggs were very runny. I made myself a fresh waffle which was very good. They provide snacks and microwaveable frozen meals, but who wants that? There isn't even a decent restaurant in the vicinity and since the roads in the area are very poorly marked, it's hard to get to the restaurants listed in the booklet without getting lost a few times. What makes this hotel great is the excellent service and cleanliness of the rooms, lacking only in food facilities.

“The BEST place to stay when attending Navy Graduation!!!”

Arrived late Thursday eve before my son's graduation from the US NAVY RTC. The front desk personnel were amazing. The manager greeted us and explaned everything to expect during the ceremony, advised us on the shuttle service available to the RTC (very inexpensive, i think it was $6.00 round trip). We had a rental car, and she explained to us the lines can be long, you have to arrive early to get through security, so the shuttle may be the best option for you. She also informed us of what my son may experience during his liberty, he could be tired and just want to sleep, he may want to take a long hot shower, he may want a favorite food, etc. She was available to answer any questions, refer us to a restaurant or any other venue he may want to attend. I loved the visit, i am scared of traveling and being in unfamiliar surroundings - they made my travels calm and comfortable. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I know it was a little more expensive that the other surrounding hotels, it was worth the money. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE ATTENDING GRADS AT RTC! Clean, quiet, pristine rooms - looked like new. Thank you Courtyard by Marriott!

“Very Helpful”

This hotel gave us a packet of information regarding the Naval base graduations. In this packet were directions to the base and what to expect. There were also directions to the local mall and dining locations. It gave us a nice comfortable feeling to know this hotel appreciated and understood why we were there.
