Great Value For the Price

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Cons: Would like a little nicer shower head in the bathroom.
Location: Great access to the Chicago Train system, and the bus system was excellent.
I found this hotel to be much nicer than I was anticipating, particularly because it was a lower-priced hotel. The lobby was beautiful, and while the room was small it was cozy, clean, and perfect for a single person, single-night stay for a school interview. I did not use the exercise room but appeared to be well-equipped. Additionally, while I arrived earlier than stated check-in time, they were still able to accommodate me as my room was ready.

Nice location bad hotel

Posted Feb 10, 2015
In the last 3 months I have book this hotel 3 times. The first time was great. The second time was bad. The room was very small and I had to request to change room and of course for a fee. The 3rd time was terrible. The room was too small for 2 adults. I requested to change rooms but was denied the request. The bathroom had hair on the floor and the room was by the elevator which we didn't get any sleep at all for 2 nights. Doors were slamming all night and the building next to the hotel was remodeling at 6:30am. I paid close to $250 for a terrible hotel experience and will not be returning to this hotel. $100 a night gets you everything I just described, so don't stay here

The perfect spot for us ~ with GREAT staff!

Posted Feb 8, 2015
Pros: The staff was so friendly and the location was great for us, as our main goal was to get to a show at Steppenwolf.
Cons: Can't think of anything...
Location: It is close to bus routes, and they supply easy to follow directions to major attractions. Walking distance to Steppenwolf Theatre and Kingston Mines
We pulled into Chicago on the night bus from Toronto - arriving just as Winter Storm Linus smacked the city. We went directly to the hotel, even though it was early morning, thinking we could maybe store our luggage until check in time. It was 8:30 AM. We met Jaqueline at the desk and she said, "actually, your room is ready." Wow! We checked in to a lovely, clean and spacious room. Got cleaned up and had a nap on the comfy bed. Our stay was 3 days and all the staff we met were incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved the complimentary breakfasts in the Daybreak room, and that Trader Joes was right across the street and I was able to load up on room snacks and food to make lunches for our train trip when we pulled out of town aboard the Texas Eagle. We saw a fabulous show at Steppenwolf Theatre (30 min walk), had a great night of Blues at The Kingston Mines (10-15 min walk), and bussed downtown one day to enjoy some art and also down to Union Station to catch our train. If/when I return to Chicago, I would totally stay here again.

Comfortable hotel close to restaurants and more

Posted Jan 28, 2015
I stayed at Days Inn on an interview trip to Chicago. While my interview days were in the Loop, getting from the hotel to downtown was extremely easy--5 minute walk west on Diversey leads you straight to the brown and purple line. There is a Trader Joe's across Diversey from the hotel; a Walgreens across Clark; a Chiptole and Noodles & Company across N. Broadway; and many small grills, pubs and other eateries along Diversey. Hotel staff was polite, timely, and accommodating; housekeeping respected my wishes to not be disturbed, and left my room and great condition while I was away.

Staycation

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Area
Cons: It would be nice to have a microwave and a refrigerator.
Location: Restaurants all around. Century mall is right around the corner and stores all around. Clark, Broadway and Diversey buses accessible. Taxi's availa
I would definitely stay at the Days Inn again. The staff was friendly and checking was easy and quick. The location is great. Everything is conveniently located. The bed was not very comfortable. I prefer firm and it was a bit too soft for me. The experience was overall enjoyable and you cant be the price.

Good neighborhood!

Pros: The staff is friendly and very accommodating.
Cons: Being told what the room size is before getting key and paying for it.
Location: LOVED the fact that a Trader Joe's was right across the street and access to the EL was relatively close.
We LOVED the location but were given a TINY room compared to the last time we stayed there about 8 months ago.

Dear Frank, We thank you for your great comments. We appreciate that you decided to book with us again. We are sorry to hear that you stayed in a smaller room than your last stay. I would recommend when booking for our location that you book our Business class rooms. They are much more spacious plus we offer more amenities such as fridge, microwave, and a daily snack pack. These rooms do cost a bit more but they are definitely worth it. We do hope that you will stay with us again and please do consider our recommendation.
