OK for the price.

At first we were a little hesitant but over all it was OK. The place is just a bit worn. For the price is was all we needed at the time as it was close to where our grandchild lives.

Run down hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2015
The room smelled bad and there were stains on the carpet. Rust covered all metals inside the room and I would not recommend this room to anyone who enjoys cleanliness.

Upon arrival, hotel clerk was busy & didn't say a word for 10 minutes. Then room wasn't ready. Had to go out for a meal while waiting. Place looked old. Elevator door was filthy. Hallways dirty looking. Bath shower needed work. Ugh!!!

Never stay at this Econo Lodge in Melrose Park

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: I didn't go out as I honestly feared for y well being.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The elevators, rooms and floors were dirty. There were people fighting, screaming and slamming doors in the middle of the night. Car alarms kept going off. I honestly locked and chained my doors the two nights I stayed there in fear of my well being. My brother who stayed there also kept having to get his card re-keyed as it would stop working each day and the staff kept telling him he was placing it near a magnetic source. I guess my brother wears magnetic pants or something. I would never recommend this establishment ever to anybody.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Tear it down.
Rooms dirty, cobwebs hanging, bad neighborhood, rooms used by hour. I would never stay at this one it would be better to sleep in your car. Toilet, tub and sink not working correctly smelled foul and like old machine oil in elevator. Disturbed every night by knock on door.

'Melrose Park' not as pleasant as it sounds

Posted May 27, 2015
I would not stay here again. To name a few issues: the complimentary breakfast was not worth waking up for, the walls were paper thin so we could hear the drunk guests roaming our corridor, and the bathroom did not feel wholly sanitary. We travelled between the front door and our bedroom as quickly as possible to avoid being solicitted to buy knock-off sunglasses or looked at by unpleasant men. It is not very conveniently located and the staff at the hotel gave us incorrect directions to the bus stop we needed. Housekeeping came occassionally but didn't once replenish our toilet roll. Don't even get me started on the awful wifi...
