“slipping, you can do much better”

Changed our key code for second night's stay and wouldn't give fixed key to my husband even though we used his credit card for incidentals and mine for reservation. Airport shuttles were great on the way to the airport, but both return rides eta given was 20 minutes, but we waited 40 minutes. One driver didn't even stop and we had to run after him for 3 gates before he stopped without a word of apology. Spa in pool area was not hot, full, or working properly. Breakfast would be better if they concentrated on a few wholesome items instead of weird rehydrated "eggs" and poor quality pastries. Beds, on the other hand, were very comfortable. This used to be our favorite place. They are not keeping up the quality at all.

“Great Hampton Inn”

This was an exceptional stay. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If there was a complaint it was there was no restaurants around there. There was 2 restaurant vans starting at 5:00 PM other than that you had to take a taxi. It was great value for the price.

“Nice place to stay for business travel”

As always, the Hampton Inn's are a clean, comfortable and satisfying place to stay. Love the comfortable beds, always clean rooms, and the warm cookies at 4pm!

Area recommendations

Close and convenient to Ohare airport, however if you are looking for shopping or night life, this would not be the area to stay.

“Ohare airport hotel”

This hotel was fine for one night as we waited for a flight. It would not be a place I would stay as the main hotel site as it is not near anything but the airport. The shuttle was convenient. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The pool area was a nice diversion for the kids. The best point was the friendliness of the staff - everyone was so nice.

“Good for lay-over or those looking to commute into Chicago & Save”

Nice continental breakfast, nice rooms- relatively quiet considering proximity to airport. I didn't get to take advantage of the excercise room and salt water pool- however I would have liked to. Front desk was pleasant, and the Thrifty/Hampton Inn shuttle was prompt. It is a bit of a hike into Chicago, but if you are willing to have a longer train ride it will be worth your while. A nearby 24 hour convenience store/ Subway sandwich shop/ Dunkin Doughnuts was a plus.

Area recommendations

We stayed in the loop due to the short time we were in Chicago. It was to see a friend's baby girl's Christening, and we only had one day to really explore. We walked the Magnificent Mile, went to Navy Pier, saw Harpo Studios, and enjoyed some Deep Dish pizza for supper. We also stopped into the public library. The Occupy Chicago protest was ongoing as we were there, and although we didn't get to see all of Millennium Park due to policy activity I would recommend it. A walk through Lincoln park and the free zoo is also a good way to pass time if the weather is nice.

Getting around

We walked a lot, and took the L which has affordable day passes. Someone tried talking us out of some of our walking plans on the L train (blue line) into the city- we are glad we didn not listen to her. If you are reasonably fit, you can probably walk a few miles- and take buses too with you day pass and it will let you make the most of your time.

“Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, great breakfast...I'll be back!”

Others had written reports of noise issues...I had no problems. My room was very comfortable and quiet, and the bed was outstanding! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and slightly different each day of my stay. Wonderful experience!

“Chicago's Best Hampton Inn Near O'Hare”

The room was clean, recently refurbished, and well appointed. The bed was freshly made, towels and bathroom clean and fresh. The breakfast included rice and Middle Eastern condiments. The parking lot was recently reasphalted, and the building and landscaping looked clean and well kept.

Area recommendations

Rosemont, Il appeared to be a pleasant, upscale suburb with quality stores, shops and neighborshoods.
