“A beautiful hotel near the museaums”
I took my son and his best friend in December of 2011. The holiday decorations were just beautiful and really added to a holiday "festive" mood. The beds were super comfy and the room we had was spotless.
“Good but not perfect”
Room was really small for the price. The shower faucet was not properly connected but still worked, just didn't look very nice. Ordered room service and the cart barely fit in the room.
“Good experience”
My husband and I arrived two hours earlier than check in time. We were given a room immediately. There was work being done on the room below us. It would have been nice if the room clerk would have told us to expect some noise because of the work being done. Also, the vending machine was "sold out". Overall, though, the room was clean, and the limited view of Michigan Ave, along with Field Museum, and Soldier Field was great, especially at night.
“Overpriced and tired.”
The room was clean but small, location very convenient, but overpriced. On site parking was expensive with cheaper option round the block. There must be better options.
“Wonderful Care”
Upon arriving for a conference, I checked for room availability and one was ready at 10 am - no extra charge, and I could get settled before attending meetings. The valet service was very helpful and I was not overcharged. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The Hilton does not have free wi-fi which would be nice - but it was also nice to stay away from the Internet for 2 days.
“The choice”
Great option.
“Disappointed”
The only thing that we liked about this hotel was the location. The room had a bad, musty smell. The room was small and the comforter was damp. The hallways were hot and smelly and there was garbage on the floor during our entire stay. We went to eat the the resturant there downstairs and there menu was small and the food was overpriced and very bad. The burgers looked like they were frozen premade patties. The only good thing was that it was on Michagan Ave. We were very disappointed.
“Great lovation but for that $ should have been cleaner”
Location and staff was awesome but room didn't smell that good and carpet was dingy. Ever heard of carpet cleaning?
“Nothing special. Outdated”
Overpriced. Room was small and uncomfortable. Bed was average. Hallways and carpets need to be redone.
“Not Impressed”
It seems the name Hilton and Chicago mean pay big bucks for your average hotel room and 'parking'!!! The room was clean and very small. It contained 2 FULL size beds. It's a good thing our grandchildren were small. There was a flat screen TV, whoohoo! We wandered around the hotel, finding lots of grand unused ballrooms. There may have been a time when this was a happening hotel, not that weekend. 2 of the hotel's restaurants were closed for renovation. We opted to purchase the parking package because the per day rate at the attached garage was outrageous!! Average..no bad, but not worth what we paid.
