Brilliant option for weary traveler

Pros: Location and staff.
Had a 12hr layover, so booked here. Late check-in, it was gone midnight, so it was excellent to be able to walk a couple of minutes from the terminal to the hotel. Staff were very friendly, and supplied some basic toiletries we had forgotten. Didn't eat but many options at ORD. The lack of stress by staying so near to airport (literally next to it, but not affected by noise) was a major plus. Would definitely book this any time in the future when flying ORD.

Excellent hotel, good transport system to city

Pros: Having the train-link at the hotel and not having to drive into the city
Cons: Parking facilities at the hotel could be better.
Location: Typical airport hotel on the outskirts of the main city. 45mins by metro to city centre
Great start to our touring hol. 45mins from Chicago by metro which is based under the hotel, didn't have to use the car to get around the city. Staff very helpful and professional. Restaurant very good, menu had plenty of choices and the food was very good.

Hilton O'Hare

Cons: lounge area would be nice
Location: O'Hare
Stayed because we had an early flight out of O'Hare. Location is amazing. 5 minute walk through the tunnel to the ticketing area. Hotel itself is clearly meant for those staying overnight for location. Not particularly homey but perfectly adequate.

Pros: Convenience to airport
The prices in the gift shop were absolutely ridiculous! My husband came up to accompany on a business trip, and was sick during the time. When I went to buy him some Nyquil, I was the one who got sick---$16 for a small bottle.

Convenient but Costly.

Pros: SOOO close to the airport. Walk to the ticket counter in 7 minutes for the front desk.
Cons: Don't charge for everything!!
Location: Nothing to do nearby except fly in and out which is the point. (-:
You can walk to the Hilton from Terminal 1 or 2 or get there conveniently from the train connecting the terminals. The room was expensive and you get charged for EVERYTHING such as to use the fitness center, bottled water in the room, using the in room refrigerator, and an internet connection. I was given complimentary wifi usage when I asked and without exception the staff are friendly and courteous. Convenience costs.

Was on business in Chicago - beinig attached to the airport was great but having to pay $20 to use the gym was disappointing. The steam room was gross.

The hotel gets away with its condition and lack of service by being the only hotel at O'Hare Airport itself. The check in staff were very friendly. The room was dated but OK and clean. However I arrived at 11pm on 2 flights cross the US and neither flight had food. There was no food at the hotel as the facilities had closed. I could not even buy snacks at the bar. They told me to get room service. Room service told me they were too busy and it would take 45 mins to an hour. The only restaurant Gaslight is so seedy I hesitated to go in. They were able to box me a salad as I pleaded with them. The concierge told me to go back into the terminal to Starbucks but after 16 hours travelling and that O'Hare is a major world airport, I would have thought that a hotel of Hilton's name and reputation would be able to feed starving passengers in transit. I would stay there only if there is no other option. The other option will be to travel through Charlotte or JFK.

Dear Lulu: We thank you for your comments posted on Expedia about our hotel. While convenience to the airport is a big factor for our hotel, we do strive to offer more to add to the guest experience. We apologize for none of our restaurants being open for food service after your late arrival. Our hours of operation are based on when we would typically have our higher volume of people. We do offer a late night menu through Room Service available all night long and are sorry that they were backed up as you should have never been refused service. With our location right on airport grounds, the airlines can send over passengers from cancelled flights with little advance notice to the hotel. We make every effort to schedule of staff according to our existing reservations and try to anticipate if there is bad weather, etc. that the airlines may send over additional people but there are situations where this is not planned for and in those cases, we try our best to expedite the check in process as much as possible. Our managers at the front office will assist when needed and we will ensure that this is addressed with the appropriate management.
