Hotel just 1 block from Michigan Ave

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Good location
Cons: Update room
Location: Heart of north Michigan Ave
Room was disappointing. Not what I expected from a Hilton hotel in this location of the city. Room was sparsely decorated. Sleeper sofa terrible for sitting and sleeping. Would not recommend. You could definitely find something nicer in this area.

Hotel Check In

Posted Jan 6, 2015
It was a miserable experience to check in. As expedia has a default setting of choosing two adults for booking a room, I booked a two double beds without making any changes. Granted this is my fault, but I was penalized heavily by this hotel. I was planning on keeping three adults in this room and the hotel had the audacity to charge me $25/person for the extra person. When told about the confusion, the hotel employee named Nicholas had no sense of empathy. Furthermore, it almost felt he was excited that he was able to charge me an additional fee that I find ludicrous. I love expedia and I have booked using expedia for many years but this was the worst experience I have had and frankly it is made me question whether I would stay again at Hilton suites or use Expedia.

Dear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I apologize for the confusion at check in. Unfortunately, we do have the policy of charging $25/person for additional guests staying in the suite. Let me also apologize for our front desk agent's behavior during check in. We will speak with him to ensure situations such as yours do not happen again. We hope you will give us another chance in the future.

Close to shopping

Pros: The hotel was very clean.
Cons: The beds need to be more comfortable, more luxurious. It is the Hilton
Location: Location was good
The pool could have been a little nicer. There were not enough lounge chairs for people to sit on and the pool water was very cold. If you are a hotel guest you should not have to pay $12.99 for 24 hour wifi access that should be free. My sister was staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel and they had a much better accomodations at the same rate as us. Free wifi, free happy hour, snacks etc. Not a lot for kids to do except swim in a cold pool.

The location is perfect. Parking is expensive. 1 block over on Chestnut, I found overnight parking for half the price the hotel valet charged.

Dear Traveler, Thank you for your feedback. I understand your comments about the price of parking. Please know that a substantial amount of the parking charge is to cover city and county taxes. Nice hotel near Michigan Ave

Good experience overall, people are amazingly helpful. Our first room was very hot and stuffy. We ask to switch to a lower floor and that was better
