EXCELLENT HOTEL

This is a very nice, comfortable hotel the staff was great I strongly recommend this hotel if plan on staying in Gurnee.

We've stayed here a few times when visiting family. Comfortable rooms & clean. Super convenient. My only criticism would be the toiletries in the room... coconut lime verbena?! Way too fragrant. Something more neutral that both men and women can use would be great.

Pros: Great fitness room

We arrived about 9PM. Checked in and were in our room in about 15 minutes. The room was attractive and clean and the bed comfortable. Had a good breakfast in the morning and were on our way again. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

Never stay there for Navy graduation

Pros: Staff are great! Professional, friendly and with sense of humor!
Hotel by itself is great, everything is perfect, A+++, i would give 6 stars, not 3, 4 or 5: has everything: hot tub, swimming pool, nice bar and restaurant, everything is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, drivers of a shuttle are unbelievable, location for shopping and dining is outstanding... But wrong wrong choice for staying there if you are planning to visit your kid graduation at Naval base.. Too far.. In other words: $20-25 on taxi...one way.. I didn't know that I must "sign off" at the morning my son from a barrack and "sign in" back at the evening.. which is makes 4 trips for parent back & forth .. Hotel try do the best to provide you with the shuttle.. But you can't avoid the taxi: shuttle could be somewhere with somebody for the next hour... you have only couple days with your kid and your time is limited enough to wait and nervous about shuttle.. Plus, shuttle is not allowed to cross the main entrance of the base (like a taxi or rented car), which is means - you have to walk across the whole base to barrack of your child.. You should Google how big is the base.. Huh, I had a workout! February 2014, very cold winter! Not much fun to walk at -11.. And I spend so much money on taxi..I should stay at some hotel closer to the base

high hopes for a relaxing night

Me and my boyfriend wanted to get away and shop for a couple days, and that is how we ended up at the Holiday Inn. Service at first was excellent, however in our room we found long black hairs covering our entire bed and pillows. Then, we try to swim and relax in the jacuzzi, and there's five children under the age of six, with rafts and starburts wrappers, in the jacuzzi. We even called management to complain, and they did nothing about it. Then to top it all of, there must have been a party going on down the hall all night, because our door handle was being shook at different hours of the night. I was extremely upset by the time I left and no one ever asked me how my stay was! Would never recommend this hotel.

The hotel was nice and our room was nice and clean but the front desk service was horrible. The front desk guy tried to tell us that we couldn't have our room even after it was booked and paid for. We booked a king bed room and he tried to give us a room wirh two twin beds! He told us that even though we booked and paid for it we weren't guaranteed the from because we used hotels.com. The bartender said that particular guy always does that and tries to give away rooms after they've already been booked. So I'd advise anyone staying at thishotel to be very firm and not let them try to talk you out of your room! It was very
