I have been to Chicago a few times and really liked this location. The hotel is being renovated which is the only reason I gave it 3 overall instead of a 4. Rooms are renovated but the lobby reception is a mess until mid May. I would stay at this location again once renos are completed.

There was construction and while the workers were not there, it was kept hidden and clean, but while the workers were there, the area was opened up to where the guests were and it was dusty and very noisy. The staff was amazing as we expect from Kimpton and this small hiccup is not going to deter me from re-visiting the hotel. I have stayed here before and appreciate the staff and location!

The hotel under construction and so messy , the staff is not polite and helpful! The food below average, the rooms not like on the pictures and below expectations. The price definitely is overpriced for this hotel ! Definitely not recommended!

The entire lobby was under construction when we arrived which was not stated when booking the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, updated, and nice. One of the elevators was broken down, so that made leaving a little bit hectic. Overall, it was a nice place to stay in the middle of downtown area.

Our stays at the Kimpton in year's past were extremely memorable. It felt like we were a King and Queen. This year the stay was less than average. While the staff was helpful, they always had their face in a computer. Will have to work really hard to get me to book again at this property.

From walking into the hotel to checking in the staff was amazing and so kind. The room was very nice and clean. Hotel very close to my son’s apartment. Close to all shopping. They welcome pets at no additional charge and go as far as offering dog beds and dog dishes. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas stay. 🎄🎁

Overpriced for mediocre
The food is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. Low quality. The breakfast buffet is just sad looking. You could use the same foods and at least make an effort to have it look appetizing. Club music for breakfast at 7 a.m.....yea thats just a headache. Broken elevator for the entire stay. Absolutely no complimentary water in room. They charge $7 + delivery fees for a bottle of water. You've simply lost your minds with what you think you can chargebvs what you provide. Won't stay again so you lost business.

Hard to beat a stay at the Hotel Monaco
The service (as always) was fantastic. The Monaco has the best people in the business. Special mention to Antonio at the door who always makes us feel welcome (when coming in) or missed (when out for the day). The front desk people were wonderful as well and we really enjoyed the hot apple cider with a little bourbon kick at the wine reception.

There are still doing construction in the lobby. It did not cause any issues, except for the elevator. Only one elevator was working. This also was not a big problem, except for in the morning when more people were using it. There were stairs that were safe and clean if you’re not too high up. Our rooms were beautiful and very comfortable

The bar and restaurant was closed for renovations during our visit. This condition was not disclosed when we reserved the room and we booked over two months in advance. The bar and restaurant atmosphere and experience is why we’ve booked at other Kimpton hotels. For the price, had we known, we’d have stayed elsewhere. Deceptive.
