It's a JW in the loop...

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: It's a nice place, just not mind-blowing.
Cons: Make the spa available to all hotel guests. Don't pretend to have a view.
Hotel is nice. Room was large and the bathtub huge. The comforter was dirty, but overall the room was clean. The only downside is they say they have a spa/fitness facility, but only the fitness is with the hotel. The spa is third party so you have to pay ($100 for half an hour!) to use the sauna. That's extortion. Needless to say, I didn't go into the sauna. Also worth noting that while I booked a "City View" room, all I got was a view of the building across the street. Don't fall for that trick, and don't expect a view.

Maintenant mon hôtel préféré à Chicago.

Cons: Le lobby est un peu bruyant (bar).
Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables, beau choix de menu au service aux chambres. Le personnel est accueillant.

Great location and high quality hotel facilities

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Excellent service and hotel amenities, paired with great location in the Chicago loop make this hotel first rate choice. We loved the fitness facility, pool & hot tub, a nice break from the hectic pace of the city. Also, nice lounge on first floor for a morning coffee or an evening drink. The beds were very comfortable, but did not have any room with 2 queen beds. We would choose this hotel again when we visit Chicago.

Beware, booking through Expedia or another 3rd party is likely to get you a less than expected room at the JW Marriott .

A Fine Hotel

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: It was pretty sophisticated.
Cons: There was a weird stain on the carpet that looked like nail polish, but that'll happen.
Location: I think it was the financial district, but with easy access to the L, everything was available. Near the Art Institute. Next door to Willis Tower.
I stayed at the JW for the Chicago Marathon because just about every other hotel was full up. It was about as much as my rent for a one night stay, but the location was nice and the staff was friendly. Even the hotel room art is not horrible.

Expensive but lovely

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Beautiful and clean. Also close to Willis Tower.
Cons: Add at least a hair dryer!
Location: Willis Tower is close. Also the trolley is at Willis Tower also :)
The hotel is beautiful and close to the trolley and Willis Tower. For the money though, you would think the room would have a frig you could actually use (not one only filled with expensive things you could purchase) Also, no microwave and no hair dryer! For over 300 a night, it should have these items. Thank you!

Convienient to McCormick Place

Room was clean, staff was courteous. Was disappointed that Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby at no charge. I could have stayed at a Motel Six and gotten free Wi-Fi in my room and paid a whole lot less. It should be available for free in each guest room. Not all who stay at this hotel have unlimited funds.
