Classy facility, close to many attractions.

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: The appointments in the room were quite nice; the bath facilities were top notch.
Cons: The desck shair showed considerable wear. There was no grounds-basket for the coffeee-maker; we could only heat water!
Location: It was cold and windy; we were only staying one night, but I know there are MANY things to do in Chicago around this area.
The staff was most helpful and friendly, from the valet and doorman to the wait-staff in the bar.

Classic hotel in a great location!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Great location, extra great staff, classic look with old world charm.
Cons: Parking was expensive at $65 a night for valet. Self parking across the street was $42 and we might have done that had we realized before checkout.
Location: Location is fantastic - it was so fun to walk a half a block to Michigan Avenue and all of the shopping and restaurants.
We had a fantastic stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker. It reminded me of NY's classic hotels -- great atmosphere and great lobby bar. The concierge was spot on with recommendations for where to eat and what to do, as well as strategic planning so we did them all in the smartest order. She even remembered our quirky specifications the next day when she asked how things went. We would definitely stay again.

cozy get away

the best and most pleasant hotel staff I've ever come across. i got a standard room so it wasn't very big but it served its purpose. i only wish my bathroom had a tub but the shower was nice and also it was a bit small. again i did pay for this so i'm fine with that over all i did enjoy my week stay. just a quick hop and a skip to the watertower and all the bars. i will be coming back for sure.

Nice Hotel a block from Michigan Ave.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Bed and duvet comforter and pillow, marble bathroom. Easy commute to Michigan ave. Lots of great food around
Location: Pizano's for deep dish pizza The grill for steak Eataly for the experience
We stayed at this hotel for 2 night and really enjoyed the location. It is located 1 block from Michigan ave. It has a nice "cachet". Our room was amazing, the bed and pillow were the best we had in years. The bathroom wasall marble and really clean. If you're looking for a great place to eat, try Pizano's on State street, the Deep dish pizza are to die for! Also Eataly, close to Michigan ave is a place you have to visit !

Nice hotel near the Magnificent Mile

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Quiet, clean, beautiful, soft pillows, rain shower
Cons: This is minor, but I would have preferred liquid soap rather than bar soap. Housekeeping doesn't replace bar soap unless it's completely gone.
Location: Shop, shop, eat, and shop. You will spend lots of money at the Water Tower Place, Northbridge mall, and Cheesecake Factory lol
The hotel room was quiet, clean, and beautiful. The staff was helpful and friendly. The bed was firm but the pillows were the softest pillows that I've ever slept on. The bathroom was clean. The shower has a rain shower head on the ceiling and handheld sprayer. Bar soap, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner are included. I'm not a fan of bar soap. The body lotion smelt really good (like coconut). Basic cable and HBO was included. There was a safe in the room. I didn't use the safe but nothing was stolen from me. The internet was fast and easy to connect to. There was a thermostat in the room. I have nothing bad to say about the place. CTA bus stops are close to the hotel.

Restored older hotel close to " magnificent mile"

Pros: good location, lovely entrance and lobby, friendly, polite and attentive staff, good food in the evening and great service at the bar
Cons: more transparency with additional charges even the small ones .. billing confusing(yet to be clarified)
Location: close to Hancock centre, lakefront beach and contemporary art museum.most brand -name shops of the world near-by ...
overall good experience first to the negatives:room with king bed has very little space.the carpet and some of the furniture quite worn and dated.was charged for every little extra..if remote not working charge for "room service" ,if someone came to have a look.extra carafe with coffee at breakfast extra charge.breakfast good but unreasonably expensive.a few minutes in the internet by mistake an immediate charge.piano in the bar but no piano player he's been laid off due to slow business at this time of year.good part:room well taken care of,bar service excellent ..staff friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in the city...food in the evening tasty and reasonably priced.concierge very helpful and bell-hops at the front door attentive.. lobby beautiful and very tastefully decorated.loved Chicago and had a great time in the city...too bad the pettiness of some of the charges at the hotel left us with a bad after-taste
