Convenient walking distance to everything.Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Hotel was very nice and staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Very satisfied with the hotel and my stay.
Location: I pretty much covered the location in my first paragraph. There are also nightclubs in the area and like I said, you can walk anywhere.
Loved my stay in the area. It took only 20 minutes to walk downtown to the boat cruises and the shopping was outstanding. Every kind of store you would want. The lake shore beaches is 5 to 10 minutes away. Staff at the hotel was outstanding and we had breakfast each morning at the hotel and it was very good. As for lunch and dinner there was every kind of restaurant you would want and could walk to them. Had a great time and would absolutely go back and stay in the same area again. Used to live in that area and knew it well. The near north side is the best.

DisappointingPosted Jul 26, 2015
was very disappointed in size of hotel room, was not as advertised. Hotel room was run down, looked like furniture had been removed, with evidence of wear on the wall. Bathroom was unclean. Not a 4 star hotel. Door staff was unfriendly and did not even open the door for us. Very unwelcoming and would not stay again or recommend to anyone else.

Clean, Quiet, ComfortablePosted Jul 24, 2015
Stayed 4 nights. Everyone was helpful, and courteous. This hotel is located close to shopping and restaurants, walking and cabs are available all the time. Three blocks to the waterfront for walking, biking and relaxing. Downtown Chicago is very clean and safe. There are police on every corner and no transients or shady looking characters lurking around after dark. Felt very safe walking to Walgreens on Michigan Ave as well as eating late at restaurants and late coffee. Very upscale hotel and safe feeling.

Classic style hotel reminiscent of a time gone byPosted Jul 23, 2015
Location: Located a half a block off Michigan Ave, it's an easy walk to most of the down town area.
For an older hotel, it was surprising that the room was bigger than I expected. The rooms were updated to current standards and fixtures. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.

Best Hotel for Price and Location!Posted Jul 21, 2015
This hotel was absolutely fabulous. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Even the doormen were charming! The lobby was marvelous! The room was gorgeous and had the absolute comfiest bed I've ever slept in. The only thing lacking about the entire room was that the waterfall shower (which also had a really cool hand held shower head) had low water pressure. However, still wonderful! I also probably would not eat in the hotel restaurant. It's pretty pricy but there are so many other places around to eat. The Cheesecake Factory is right down the street! The location was the absolute best part. It was across the street from a mall, two blocks down from another mall, and at most a 10 minute walk to the farthest mall. There are three Starbucks around the hotel and two Walgreens in case you need anything! It was also across the street from the 146 bus that took us wherever else we might need to go (the aquarium, Soldier Field, Target) When I come back to Chicago, I will always stay in this hotel.
