Complimentary house-car service is available within the Chicago business district (about five miles) weekdays. The car can be booked in advance or, if available, used on a first-come, first-served basis.The Omni hotel has a 39-foot indoor swimming pool with spa tub; a large fitness area with free weights and a dozen cardio machines; and two outdoor sundecks with city views. The fitness center is open from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. Guests also can exercise in their own rooms with the hotel's Get Fit Kit, containing a floor mat, elastic bands, and two dumbbells. For families, the Omni Kids Program includes complimentary childproofing of rooms, children's first-aid kits, activity books with crayons, and nighttime snacks.

A variety of recreational opportunities are available a few blocks away at Lake Michigan and the Lakefront park. During summer, lifeguards are on duty at Oak Street Beach, less than a half-mile from the hotel. Beach volleyball courts are available for rental or pick-up games. The Lakefront path, which extends north and south for 18.5 miles, is open to bicyclists, joggers, walkers, and in-line skaters. Bicycles and in-line skates can be rented at several beachfront locations, and the hotel has jogging maps.
