Very Disappointing Experience

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Distance to the navy base, very close.
Cons: Everything!!
I have never been more disappointed in my life. We arrived a day late due to flights being delayed. Thank God that they did not charge me for the day and the staff was pleasant (no attitudes) but very nonchalant. On the day we arrived it appeared that someone had been on the room relaxing (chair pulled out and left in the middle of the floor, toilet seat raised, and toothpaste on the faucet). I requested to have the room cleaned again and someone came to the room and sprayed a cleaner (I could smell it) on the toothpaste and did not touch anything else. The next day we went sight seeing and while we were gone we expected for the room to be cleaned. When we arrived we noticed that the bed was not made but they folded the blankets back poorly and covered the pillows, did not vacuum the floor, took the towels and left no new ones. When I went to complain, I requested the name of the manager with their contact information and was told that they could not provide any contact information including the name of the manager. I would need to mail the letter to the business and they would make sure that the manager received it. Make a better choice and don't use this facility!

Never again

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: In close proximity to the Naval base.
Cons: Appliances that work! Sheets that fit! New linens in general. Fix the cable reception.
Location: Mainly fast food places nearby.
Stained mattresses, sheets did not fit on mattresses, the toilet seat was broken off and propped next to the toilet. Blankets were stained and one had a cigarette burn hole in it. We checked in at 3pm and requested a rollaway bed. The cot arrived at about 9:30 pm after numerous phone calls. The microwave did not work. The television reception was horrible. You can hear EVERYTHING thru the walls.

Close to navy base - primitive in creature comfort

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Pros: This hotel is low-priced and close to the base.
Cons: Bedding is threadbare, there was what looked like blood spatters on the side of the mattress, the water pressure is lacking and the heater is finicky!
This is a hotel that does not look for return customers. This is a one night stay establishment for families coming to see their navy recruits graduate from basic training. The room was of an average size, however the interior was worn and tired... this might have been overlooked had the toilet seat been attached to the toilet and not merely resting on the floor in the bathroom, and had the wall heater been more easy to operate. Overnight our make up froze and my elderly mother had to climb slippery, frozen, unlit stairs to reach the second floor room. I carried up our luggage on those same unlit treacherous stairs. Also, as you entered the room, the light switch is located on the lamps between the beds, so we had to fumble through a pitch dark room to try to find some way to light the place.

PIR....keep looking.

Keep looking. This place is filty, old and noisy. Should be better maintained if they are advertising with mwr. Mwr should go look and see what their navy and families are paying for.

Very close to Great Lakes RTC Base

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: I liked the location, and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: Just up date the televisions, and the pictures on the tv are not very clear but it was ok.
Location: There is nothing close by but a gas station, Mcdonalds, Subway, or restaurant in parking lot. Use google to find near by stores.
When we arrived it was very early and they still let me check in early. When I got to my room the heat didn't work. I called to the desk, and they sent someone up ASAP. They then promplty moved my daughter and I to a new room. The hotel was under renovations when I arrived on 14Oct14, but it wasn't intrusive to my stay. They even offered a shuttle to the base for the graduation. They had a continental breakfast every morning. The rooms are a little dated, but roomy and has comfortable beds. i was a very quiet location. There is a restaurant/bar in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel, and you can hear the music. It didn't bother us though, and I even had a 1 year old in mu room. I would get a room from them again if I needed to go back to the base. I enjoyed my stay.
