“Up to you.”

Only location will be worth to stay. Other than it, everything was worse than other hotels I've ever stay.

When to go
If you want to enjoy night life in down town.
Shopping
Many famous shops near the hotel.
Nightlife
Many bars and restaurants without cars.

“YOU COULDNT PAY ME TO GO BACK THERE!!!!”

The entrance to the hotel was ok it was just a little cramped but when we got in the room I wanted to leave. It was incredibly tiny and looked as though it was not cleaned even though we had to wait for it to get cleaned for 2 hrs. There were pieces of chocolate candy on the floor, the bathroom paint was peeling off, the bottom of the tub was stained yellow, the towels were as hard as cardboard and gave me a rash on my arm, the service was horrible, and I was very dissapointed with the entire experience. I would not recomend this to anyone, and it was a miserable place to stay, outside would have been better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Not worth saving the money to stay there, I was afraid to get bed bugs.”

Pretty janky hotel and definitely had no real wifi despite claiming to have some. I would never stay here again. Plus when asked about the wifi the front dest lady was asking me if I knew how to fix it! Really!? Basically not worth the saving to stay here.

“Great Location!”

This is a typical old hotel with nothing fancy or modern. Everything was just fine if you only need a place to sleep and that's what I needed. The room was quite small as is usual for many Chicago hotels. The shower was the worst thing as it had barely any water pressure, but it's not unbearable. I would go again for the price!

“The people are great, but the hotel was some what dirty”

The people at this Red Roof Inn where very helpful, and occomidated our every need. The motel however could use a good make over, or at least a thourow cleaning.

Area recommendations
The area we stayed at was withing walking distance of a lot of great sites.

“Gets the job done”

Decent enough place and they have smoking rooms which is getting hard to find. Close to Mag Mile and the Pier, stuff to do everywhere. Had fun, would go back again.

“Great Location, Needs Remodel”

I stayed here during Lollapalooza weekend. The location is fantastic - close to shopping and an easy walk (for someone from San Francisco) to Grant Park. The hotel itself is quite dated and could use a remodel, but we had a good price during a very busy weekend. The cleanliness was questionable, but hard to tell if the room was not clean or if it was just dingy because of the need for a remodel. We ran out of hot water every day during the first person's shower.

Area recommendations
Magnificent Mile - great shopping, lots of restaurants, central location

“LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION”

IF ALL YOUR LOOKING FOR IN A HOTEL IS ITS LOCATION THEN THIS HOTEL IS FINE. CLOSE TO SHOPPING AND OTHER ATRACTION. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HOTEL THAT IS NOT RUN DOWN, FALLLING APART OR ROOMS SO SMALL THAT YOU HAVE TO GO OUT INTO THE HALL TO CHANGE YOUR MIND THEN THIS IS THE HOTEL FOR YOU.

“nOT IMPRESSED BUT THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT AND SO IS THE PRICE.”

I have been in the hotel before and I expected it was remodeles (as a saw it in the internet review) bit it is not, what was a little disappointing, also furniture in the rooms need maintenance or change if possible. Although the room was clean we find out "spiderwebs" and stains in the walls and the carpet. The good things are: Location; Lobby attendants (frontdesk) are very kind and helpful; the lady cleaning the room took care of our complaints immediately and was also kind and helpful. We do recommend to give maintenance overall because location is excelent.

Area recommendations
Magnificent Mile. Find all kind of departmental stores. Millenium park. Lots of events and relaxation. Buckinham fountain.Very nice. Navy pier. Lots of fun and activities. Chicago River architectural tour. To know about history of buildings. Old Town. To give a flavour of a neighborhood and old and elegant houses. To attend different concerts in the parks.

“if it's just a place you need to sleep....”

If you only need a place to sleep, this would be your place (but you can also sleep in a box...) specific issues: - washroom smells really bad (even when not in use) - very weak wifi - very small - cleaning job was mediocre - only positive is that it's a good location and fairly cheap rate

Must see
millennium park ('the bean', Jay Pritzker Pavillion, BP Bridge) museum of contemporary art, art institute wrigley field (see a cubs game.. but spend the money for good seats... nose bleeders really suck)
Shopping
michigan avenue.. lots of options
Family-friendly activities
Museum of Science and Industry, and anything on museum campus (particularly Shedd and Field)
