Miserable in Deerfield IL
Posted Jan 13, 2013
This hotel was accepting payment for reservations long after the property was booked full. This resulted in many people showing up for rooms they had just booked within a few hours and being told no rooms have been available for days. The frustration boiled over in the lobby between weary travelers and the poor (and alone) front desk girl, who was dealing with a broken computer system as well. Many people wearing house arrest bracelets were lingering in the lobby, taking great pleasure at the screaming going on, adding to an already uncomfortable situation. I reserved a king room but was given a DBDB accessible room that smelled like a 10 year old ashtray. Fearing my clothing needed for my morning meeting would smell similarly, I braved the lobby shouting match to ask to be switched. After 40 minutes or s I was given a key to another room but told the electricity may have been off in the room for a while. This room smelled like a locker room but I chose to stay...lesser of 2 evils. No hand towels, one bath towel and a leaking sink. Unreal experience.

Great hotel

This hotel was very clean. The services were wonderful. I needed an iron so the maid brought me one with a portable ironing board pretty fast. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

The stay was mediocre
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Pros: Inexpensive and convenient
Cons: Facilities are starting to look a bit shabby
Location: Good restaurants nearby
Strange things happened. At 7:20 AM and 7:23 AM the first morning, someone hammered very hard on my door, but did not stay. A strange woman with a towel draped over her head tried to get into my room on the second night. The staff was not helpful in helping me to extend my stay one day

Horrible location out in the middle of nowhere
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Cons: Ability to transfer room reservations between hotels of the same chain. Lost one night even though I was going to stay at other Red Roof Inn location
Used it for a business trip out to Chicago. Location is horrible and the place needs some serious maintenance. Had to transfer to the downtown location to get closer to what I needed.

Decent Motel
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Room is much smaller than pictures make it seem. This is a MOTEL not a hotel which was not mentioned in the listing and there is no pool. Overall, It's a decent place for a quick one night stay.
