Didn't meet expectations that weren't high anyway

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Free WiFi
Cons: Just about everything else
Location: Good location, but on a road with a weight limit of 5 tons - could be difficult for some travelers.
Sometimes you get what you pay for and no more, but sometimes you get even less. In no particular order: The room was very poorly lit. The air conditioning was not working, and no one was available to fix it until morning. There was water under the bathroom floor - seeped up through the cracks whenever we walked or stood on it. (We HOPE it was water.) There were no kleenex-type tissues. The towels were very old and scratchy, and unsurprisingly small. Although a non-smoking room, there was an odor of very old smoke that couldn't be mitigated because the unit vent wouldn't work. And I wish there could be some indication when room access was directly from the outside, rather than through a semi-secure hallway.

Great staff. Wall thin could hear my neighbors. Room was not the cleanest. But the bed was nice.

Refrigerator shelve was nasty looking with the wire paint rusting off. Room is pretty cozy compared to the nearby Comfort Inn. Staff was very friendly.

Worths the price

It's a cheap hotel so don't expect much. But it worths the price. A little bit far away from downtown Chicago but it cost much less than the hotels in that area

The room was remodeled recently and the décor is in style and very pleasant. Front desk supervisor was welcoming and knew the area well. The directions she gave to an office building (not on the beaten path) were spot on.

But u get what u pay for! A lot of live ins. Rooms updated, pretty nice except they put in all new wood floors and left the old nasty really smelly piece of carpet under beds. Spent $20 worth of carpet and odor cleaners and still won't touch it. Unbearable odor. If it wasn't for that and the riff raff it wouldn't be that bad.

This low cost hotel was efficiently managed and gave great value. The house keeping was excellent and I always got a smile from the front desk.

I'd Stay Longer If Possible

Posted Jun 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
On this particular bicycle tour, I had scheduled some volunteer work at a local charity earlier in the day, and intended to check in after 5 pm. Overall, I'd give this hotel a 4.5 if I could, and stay longer if possible. There was a positive: an elevator; and a few (very minor) negatives: no breakfast, not even Continental, but coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were available 24-hrs. and restaurants were nearby; a microwave was only available in the lobby; and a few pieces of trash were strewn on the floor landings. Despite those things, I'll stay here again if my tour plans call for passing through this area.
