construction

Pros: location
Cons: a better selection all around in the restaurant
Location: you are at Wacker and Michigan you can walk to just about everything, Cabs are everywhere.
they were redoing the entire downstairs which was the lobby and the lounge. They made a great way to get where you needed to go. The staff were on the spot and as helpful and friendly as usual. We were in one of the just redone rooms and it was wonderful.

Terry - Our recently renovated guest rooms certainly provide a unique experience for our guests. We are delighted you enjoyed the room and did not find our lobby renovation to be of any inconvenience! We look forward to welcoming you on many more trips to the windy city! Until then, live well.

Many problems!

Posted Mar 30, 2015
We stayed at the Renaissance in Chicago for four days. We had a great view of the river, which we paid for. However, the room itself had many issues . We had to call to get a chair to sit in. The faucet in the bathroom only had warm or hot water. The cold didn't work even though we called maintenance and they presumably fixed it, which they did not. The heater kept clicking on and off and didn't work properly. Insultingly they charged us for wi-fi!

Time I'll never get back

It started off bad because the hotel is under major construction which would've been nice to know. But then add crazy air conditioning and a below average restaurant and you get the picture.

Great Location

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Location & the view - it was perfect! Near everything we wanted to visit.
Cons: Continue renovating throughout the hotel. The upkeep has done well - however the wear is starting to show despite the newer decor.
Location: Sears Tower -- yes, SEARS. Chicago Blackhawks store, Disney store, Watertower Place, Millenium Park, great restaurants & Chicago river.
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was pleasant and helpful when they provided us with a great place nearby for breakfast before ice skating at the Maggie Daley ice ribbon. The pool was very warm - but enjoyable. It looked like there had been a whirlpool in the area at one time, but subsequently "filled in", unfortunately. The rooms were decorated wonderfully, however, the carpet in our room needed to be updated badly, and there was a tear in one of the lamp shades. The beautiful view of the Chicago river however kept our mind off of those minor downfalls.

Great hotel along the river

It has become a tradition for us to have an overnight in Chicago after Christmas, and we always enjoy the bay windows overlooking the river...
