Good for quick stay

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Staff, valet and bellmen.
Cons: cross walk - which was a heating unit I think to bedroom window - should have been discounted.
Location: Close enough.
The hotel staff and lobby area were great. The pool is like an oversized bathtub, not great for kids, just OK. While the room was clean and fine and breakfast fine too, our room overlooked a dumpster and had a cross walk over to the parking structure that led straight to the bedroom window - a little scary. This room should have been discounted.

Thank you for the nice 4-Star review! I'm glad you enjoyed our staff and breakfast. I'm sorry you did not like your room view. We do have black out curtains in all of our rooms so you will always have great privacy in your room. I truly wish that every room had an amazing view, but unfortunately, this is not possible being downtown. We hope to have you back the next time and hopefully we can get you a better view of the city next visit!

Nice hotel, excellent staff, convenient location. Free breakfast with good variety. Only suggestion: the pool water can be a little cleaner.

Great hotel just off Michigan Avenue

Posted Jul 29, 2014
The hotel was great and the staff super friendly. The corner room we had was a bit cramped for 4 people. The pullout couch was uncomfortable as it needed a new mattress, but overall a great experience. The complimentary breakfast was spectacular. Ismeta (the staff member running the breakfast area) was incredible. She made you feel comfortable and like you were visiting her home instead of staying in a hotel!

Nice enough, small pool.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, staff and location were all great.
Cons: The pool and longer window for breakfast.
Location: Great, everything in walking distance.
Nice clean hotel, good location. The pool is small, crowded and over chlorinated. Your eyes burn before you even enter pool. The breakfast is tasty and there is a good selection. The woman running the breakfast is amazing but the hotel makes her job difficult. They only allow 2 hours for breakfast which makes it really crowded and hard to move around. There were no seats available and we tried different arrival times each of our 3 days. We had to grab what we could hold and take it up to our room. Had to make multiple trips to get beverages. It is a shame, if they would accommodate the amount of guest rooms and total people with a bigger window of time, it would be a much better less stressful breakfast experience. Again, the woman running the breakfast was doing everything from greeting each person to making waffles and making sure everything was re-stocked. I wish I could give you her name but she never stopped moving long enough for me to see her name tag. She was going far above and beyond to try and make the best of it for the guests. The hotel should respect their staff and guests enough to provide adequate time for breakfast. I guess since it is included and they don't make extra money, they don't care. Really disappointing!

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel! I am glad you enjoyed a large part of the hotel. I'm sorry the pool gave off an over-chlorinated scent. I'll make sure to pass on your comment to our Director of Engineering. I'm very glad you enjoyed the breakfast and the service. Our weekend hours are 7am-10am for our complimentary breakfast. It can certainly be very busy during the summer months with the amount of families we have at our hotel. The actually exceeds the standard time for the other Residence Inn hotels in North America. The earlier you come, the less crowded it is. Thank you and we hope to have you back soon!

Chicago trip with toddlers

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Suite was perfect. Had separate room with king size bed. Worked out well for my husband and I to get alone time while the kids slept in. Pull out bed was comfortable. Kitchen was clean and easy to cook in. We loved the hot breakfast. Convenient and delicious. Good location to subway/bus stop.

Wonderful place to stay in Chicago

Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: The lady in charge of the breakfast buffet. She was awesome.
Cons: Could use more elevators. They became congested and slow at times. Irritating!
Location: Close to the Red Line Subway which took me to many locations. Just a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile. Lots of good restaurants close by.
Good location, friendly staff, and comfortable room.
