Convenient in-town location

Posted Jan 18, 2015
Comfortable large room. The El tracks go down Wabash Ave. but the noise wasn't bad. Much like the individual HVAC units that many hotels have. I had a room on the back side of the hotel, and would recommend asking for that when reserving. Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel, too. And the rate (admittedly in January) was outstanding.

Bon hôtel en plein Downtown

Posted Jan 2, 2015

Great downtown location

Posted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Just the coffee maker didn't want to cooperate and make us a cup of tea in the morning!
Location: Just a short walk to millennium park , shops, art institute, etc
The SIlversmith was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Great location, huge room( we had a suite) amazing bed and stylish in every way. Continental breakfast was included and there were yummy pastries and muffins, juice and coffee. We stayed six nights as we were in Chicago from Australia for Christmas with my son , his wife and her family which we spent at their house in Des PLaines. This hotel provided us with a sanctuary in which to prepare gifts and just relax in. A truly great hotel, we thought we may hear the El train which is just outside but,no, only a slight gush from it every now and then not at all intrusive. Would stay here again if ever in Chicago again!

Nice hotel!

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: Nice looking hotel for romantic gateway! Huge bathroom with glass door shower, marble floors. Very clean and very comfortable bedding! Also very quiet
Cons: I would like to see parking overnight being a little cheaper. Valet parking is very convenient but had to pay $56.00 extra.
Location: Close to everything! Very convenient.
Overall I am satisfied with my stay. It was our weekend gateway with my husband. Nice chic hotel in Downtown Chicago. We were very close to EVERYTHING: shops, bars, restaurants; Starbucks was just across the street. The only downside that I can imagine is the fact that there is a Metro train right on that street. My windows looked at the back street. It was very quiet for us. I would imagine it wouldn't be as quiet in the room looking at the main street. The room was comfy, a little small but enough for just two of us.
