Designed in 1897, The Silversmith Hotel (a National Landmark) was built to serve the rapidly growing jewelry and silver trade in this part of Chicago in the late 19th century. The area is still referred to as Jewelers Row. The hotel's exterior features upper floors of red brick and unglazed terra cotta, while the lower floors are clad in a rich, dark green highly-glazed terra cotta.
Upon entering the hotel, guests will notice the expansive lobby complete with a grand piano, gleaming wood floors, and detailed wood paneling throughout. Visitors can relax with a cocktail from the lobby lounge.
The hotel's on-site restaurant, Ada's, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Use of the premise's 24-hour fitness center and wireless Internet access are complimentary. Valet parking is offered (surcharge; in/out privileges apply).
