Weekend Getaway-Great Hotel-Plan Ahead for ParkingPosted Mar 3, 2014
The hotel itself is very well kept, and clean. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very comfortable, clean, and had many nice amenities. The only downside to the room was that it overlooked a construction site, which was not very visually appealing, and tended to be a little loud. The location of the hotel was perfect, only a couple blocks from Michigan Avenue, with many shops and dining options in the immediate area. Parking, however, was a major annoyance. The hotel charges $63 per day for valet, with the ability to come and go as you please. The garage next door is $45 per day, however you must leave your car for the entirety. If you leave and come back, the "meter" starts over again. Based on those rates, we chose to do street parking, which at the meters in the area is $4 per hour from 8:00 AM until Midnight at intervals of 2 hours. Although this was a bit of a hassle, we got lucky a few times, and this did end up being the most cost efficient option. Finding a space was never a problem.

Fantastic hotel with prime locationPosted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: Shower is delux but if anything it could be expanded 2 feet but nothing of concern.
This was my first stay at a Sofitel and it was fantastic. I was in town for business and although I had to take a $10.00 cab ride to the loop area (where the Sears/Willis Tower is), this hotel was better as it offered more option at night like eating, shopping etc. First the room - It was clean, spacious and nice beds. The Bose speaker allowed my to play the radio as well as connect my iPod. Free Internet was cool as long as I was not downloading videos or watching YouTube. This was an extra charge. Everything in the room was updated, nice and clean. I strongly suggest paying the extra fee to get a room on the 25th floor or higher - views are fantastic. The area is nice too, especially in the evening. There is a great pizza joint call Pizanno's around the corner. You must get the thin crust which they are known for NOT the deep dish. Save that for Giordano's or Lou Malnatis. Also for breakfast, a restaurant 100 yards down the street called Tempo is fantastic for american style breakfast, egg skillets, pancakes, oatmeal etc. $15.00 for the works and large OJ. Cheaper than hotel and very good. So Hotel is a thumbs up all around.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful service, great locationPosted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Amenities, service, location.
Cons: Gyjm facility is a bit small.
Location: Michigan Ave is two blocks away, great resturants only steps away.
My wife and I spent a long weekend in a juniour suite at the Sofitel, and the experience was memorable. We have stayed in at least ten four star hotels in Chicago over the last three years, and the Sofitel is, in our opinion, the nicest. Beautiful building, professional, freindly staff and choice location.

Modern boutique hotelPosted Feb 24, 2014
I definitely recommend staying at the Sofitel Chicago. The modern boutique hotel is beautiful. This is a 5 star hotel that is in a perfect distance to all Chicago attractions. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome & went above and beyond to accommodate us. The room we stayed in was their standard hotel room & very Nice clean, modern, restrooms excellent would like to try their suite next time (as we've stayed at Sofitel London in suite) The French restaurant was a 5 star food rating. The room service was excellent food as well. I definitely recommend staying here if you visit Chicago. I will definitely book again.
