“A Family Hotel”

It was not too disappointing considering the price that we paid for. The reception was not on top of what was going on. We were given a room which was not ready - the previous occupants had not checked out yet. The reception area was not very clean - not good first impression! The room was big and equipped with everything that we needed. Location was near the blue line but needed to walk through a creepy, quiet walkway to get to it. The breakfast was not worth mentioning. There were a lot of kids and noisy. The food was the same for both mornings.

“Met all our requirements.”

Convenient to the airport but rooms were quiet. Will stay again on our next trip to Chicago. This hotel was closest to our sons home & he recommend it. Very satisfied. Coke machines were expensive as were snacks. But that's minor. They had a very nice free breakfast with a good variety of fresh foods. Overall it made a nice impression. It also had a free shuttle to & from the airport.

“Our Home away from Home”

We return to Chicago frequently to visit family. Springhill Suites is our hotel of choice for location, quality & comfort, and friendliness of staff.

Area recommendations

Oriole Park, Park Ridge, and Norridge are all safe neighborhoods close to the hotel.

We held our Son's 50th Birthday Party there. The room was perfect and the catering service & food were great. The staff went the extra mile to be helpful!

“Chicago”

This hotel is close to my brother's house and makes it easy to come visit. Rooms are always clean and staff is helpful. Pool was closed for maintenance. Fitness room had some broken equipment. Breakfast is not what it used to be.

“Very pleased.”

I had to travel to Chicago for a test and stayed for the remainder of the week (7 days stay total). It was quiet enough for me to study prior to the test. The hotel was nice and even had a Cinco de Mayo party. The only problem that I had with the hotel is that the maids didn't clean up as well as I thought they should. Also, they didn't vacuum unless they were asked to. I would stay there again. Great price and not very far from downtown Chicago. Within walking distance to train station if that form of travel is desired.

Getting around

Buy a pass on the L train. It's pretty safe and the cheaper form of travel. Downtown parking is a killer on a budget.

“Comfortable rooms...”

very comfortable rooms; spacious too. Hotel itself was fine, but staff were not eager to assist. They weren't particularly rude, but they were not at the front desk ready to help. At one point I had to wave someone out from the back room to help me check out. The location is what it is--an airport hotel right on the interstate. If that's not what you want, don't stay here. Also, our room was on the side of the building that faced away from the interstate & we never heard a peep from the traffic.

“Pretty good”

I thought the hotel was nice and the service was great. The rooms were comfortable. The one thing i would suggest is to add a hot tub to the pool area. The continental breakfast was excellent. I liked the variety of foods. Nice workout area.

Area recommendations

The Willis tower because it is the most spectacular building you will ever see and you get to walk out in a glass box on the 103rd floor.

“Not bad”

Great service, but should have at least some security outside the hotel, esp after dark. Keep an eye on the type of people who drive in and out of your and Outback's parking lot.

“Where to stay near O'Hare”

Bargain price for a spacious mini-suite, close to the airport with shuttle service -- the perfect place to get ready for a long overseas flight the next day. Several airline employees were there with us.
