“Disappointed”

We have stayed a several Staybridge Suites in the last few years. We love their room layouts, in-room kitchens, and continental breakfasts. They are great for our family trips! This is the first time we've been disappointed. The room clearly needed some repairs--one toilet was constantly getting stopped up, one bathroom light didn't work correctly, and the doors kept sticking, The whirlpool also was shut down during our visit. All this we could live with, but soon we realized that our feet were getting really dirty when we walked on the carpeting. Even worse, our youngest, who is learning to walk, but still mostly crawls, became filthy within minutes of being on the floor. His feet, knees, and hands were literally black. I brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk and the head of housekeeping. The HoH blamed it on people walking in the room after using the pool (?) and said it was the job of the maintenance crew to shampoo the rugs. I e-mailed the higher-ups at the hotel with our concern, along with photos of our son's legs, but have not had a response. Other than that, our stay was good. The room was quiet, the pool was outdoors but well-heated, and the breakfast needed more whole-grain choices but was OK.

“Great experience for the price”

We had a 2 room suite for 2 families. The rooms were on opposite sides of the living area, and it worked out great! We would definitely come back. Staff were friendly. It was a little dated, but well maintained. Great location!

“Never stay there again”

Was dirty, staff was negative about supposid renovations. Room stunk of smoke so bad and had ants. Lobby was a disaster, breakfast was horrible.

“Nice room, with problems”

The Good: Clean room, nice area, close to restaurants and shopping. The Bad: Internet did not work in room our entire stay no matter how many times i told them about the problem. Shower drain was clogged and no housekeeping at all !! I had to go to office to get internet access on my laptop. Breakfast was just ok, quality of food was subpar.

Area recommendations

Michigan Ave was a blast.

“Good accomodations for a mixed shopping group”

Lady at the front desk was a bit gruff on the edges as it relates to her customer service. Breakfast is fantastic. The two bedroom suite really suits our family! The price in unbeatable I feel related to the amenitites. This is our second year in a row here for annual shopping trip.

“Home away from home...almost”

We may have only needed it for one night, but it really was a very private and comfortable stay. We were so impressed with what the room offered, we actually went to the grocery store and bought dinner to make ourselves! Saved us going to a restaurant; however we discovered the stove didn't work! We laughed it off and just improvised and used the microwave. Breakfast the next morning was very impressive; no continental meal here! Overall, very comfortable and homey! We loved it.

“Schaumburg Shopping Trip”

The large 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would defineatly stay again. 3 things to suggest.... Make sure bedding is free of stains. Fix TV reception Make wireless internet more user friendly
