“Hotel is OK for the area but not close to Chicago downtown”

It is a nice hotel but it can take between an hour to an hour and 45 minutes to get to downtown during rush hour. Pay the extra $$ and stay closer to downtown. That's what I'll do next time. But if I need to stay in North Chicago, this place was fine for the $$.

“Got the job done”

My trip was a short stay at Chicago, stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Which is all you can ask for. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Area seemed nice. Staff was friendly.

“Great deal for the price!”

I thought when booking a Super 8 that I would be staying at a cheap jenkity motel, and I must say that I was pretty surprised with what we got. The woman at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful, and the lobby area looked redone and clean. We had booked a non-smoking room with two double beds, and though the hallways did smell a little musky, our room itself was fine - no smoke smells or bizarre odors. The top sheets did have some really small stains on them, but nothing particularly worrisome. The beds were really comfortable, and they had extra pillows on the beds too. The bathroom was a bit small, but considering that only one person was in it at a time, it was fine. Housekeeping was wonderful as well - we asked for some extra towels and they were in our room before we got back from a short trip. All in all, for what you pay, it's quite a steal. I know they have much more amenities that I didn't take advantage of (i.e. free wifi, free continental breakfast), but the fact that they offer them is fantastic. Next time I'm in the area I really wouldn't mind staying there again!

“Very helpful staff”

FOR THE PRICE I WANTED I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE ROOM AND HELPFULLNESS OF THE STAFF. ALWAYS HAD COFFEE, HELPED GET MY ONLINE TICKETS AND RESPECTED MY DO NOT DISTURB SIGN. LOCATION WAS PERFECT FOR MY NEEDS.

“Pretty Decent - Great for Price”

Originally when walking into the hotel I smelled a lot of smoke and as a non-smoker I was a bit disgusted by this (it smelled especially bad in the elevator), but surprisingly when I arrived in my room I discovered that it was completely smoke-free! The room that I stayed in was quite nice, it was pretty large and had a nice bathroom and a hairdryer (for which I was eternally grateful!). The fact that they also provided both shampoo and conditioner (instead of just conditioned shampoo), was also a great plus. The AC worked well, and the cable had some good channels. Also the internet worked fast as well. Location wise, it was a bit far away from Chicago but there was a bus route nearby and a L station around a 20 minute drive away. The hotel way overall much nicer than I every expected, and for the price I would definitely recommend it, and I would even stay there again.

“Will definitely stay here again!”

The hotel was very clean & in a very good part of town. It's convenient to the highway. Be aware that being 20 miles outside of Chicago means lots of travel time to the city but I am very glad we stayed here. The price was extremely reasonable!

There are neighborhood shops and restaurants just 1 exit away, for your convenience.

Getting around

Be prepared for lots of traffic if you are going into Chicago. Also, be prepared to pay for parking. If possible, take public transportation into the city to avoid traffic, tolls & parking fees.

Shopping

The magnificent mile on Michigan Ave. downtown is a full day of walking. Tons of stores & lots of shopping opportunities on one street.

“Not the best place but comfortable...”

The hotel was pretty good. Liked that it was clean and its large parking lot... location is not the best but doesn't bother much. Ice machine looked a little too old... Keys/// I had to swipe it several times to open the door...
