“Not Impressed, DO NOT STAY HERE”
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. They were not accommodating what so ever. No room service at night, cheap towels, the bed was so uncomfortable, and the manager Derrick is rude and passive aggressive. This hotel should not be a four star hotel. This was the WORST experience I have ever had. They DO NOT tell you ahead of time that they will take a 50.00 per day surcharge and then tell you it could take up to 30 days to have it back in your account. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
“Enjoyed my stay at the Whitehall”
I find that downtown Chicago hotels can be a little rough, due to the large amount of tourists that move through this town on any given day -- but I was pleasantly surprised by the Whitehall Hotel. I had a large room, with big comfy 4 poster bed, and sitting area. Lovely and clean, great location. Ideal set-up for Michigan avenue holiday shopping! Only downside was the small lobby and long line to check in....
“Stay Somewhere Else”
This Hotel has a terrific location and that is the only pro I would give it. Surly door men who do not even bother to open doors half the time and often let it slam in your face. No room service, no coffee available til 7am for business travelers, furniture and carpet torn up. Took 20 minutes to get ice, broken safe never fixed, phone did not work, windows in 32 degree weather left open that required maintenance. Towels like they came out of a youth hostel.
“Y.Pirli from Istanbul-Turkey”
Best location, poor service and room quality but worth for the price. I have spent 2 nights in the beginning of November 2011.
“Great Hotel - Superior Staff”
Staff very helpful and friendly.
“Needs a little help”
Great location, but needs some updating
“Great hotel”
Loved the quality, location, and well appointed room.
“Not a 4 star hotel”
This is 3 star hotel. Old and rundown, old furnishings. Fortuntately it was clean and quiet. But is not the 4 star hotel Expedia says it is.
“Whitehall”
A good hotel with a magnifşcant place.
“why did I pay for this "4 star" hotel?”
Maybe I expect too much from a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in Motel 6s and Holiday Inns with much larger rooms. I stayed in the King Size Suite.. very small, walk in, there is the bathroom. Look to the left, 4 feet away is the bed, maybe a 18 by 18 foot room. No Ice machines anywhere, elevators were small and slow. AC would not cool the room below 69 F.. Toilet was in the middle of the bathroom floor right next to the shower.. 8 by 8 foot space. Im from Dallas, so maybe this is how inner city nice hotels are.. Ill stay at a Holiday Inn next time. If I had brought my Wife there would be NO WAY we could have stayed in such a clastrophobic space.
