Disappointing experience

Posted Mar 2, 2015
We have stayed a number of times at the Whitehall Hotel. This time our first room was very cold and drafty. We set the thermostat at 75 and it remained cold and drafty. They gladly changed our room, but the electronic keys did not work a lot of the time. We kept going down to the front desk to get new ones.

Classy historic hotel

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Great location, good housekeeping standards, extremely comfortable bed and sheets, very nice decor.
Cons: The addition of a kettle or coffee-maker in the rooms would be good. Also, the breakfast was not up to the hotel's otherwise high standard.
Location: It's really close to the Hancock Tower, the Magnificent Mile, and loads of other interesting things. Just a great location overall.
I really enjoyed my two nights at the Whitehall. It's a classic, historic building, but with rooms that are more or less up-to-date in terms of decoration. It was also very clean, and had great beds. Overall, it's a great place to stay!

I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friend. The room was so cold even though I set up to 85 degrees. The worst experience for me was their front desk staff. Please this isn't 4 start hotel at all!!!!!!!!

Cons: The fitness center needs an overhaul, and, although there is a business center, you have to pay to use the computer and print. Not 4-star service.
The hotel staff was very nice. I am a local that stayed there for the weekend in order to work on a project. While the room and the restaurants were very nice, it was disappointing to find out the business center was only available at a surcharge.

Exceptional staff and location.

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: The location and staff. Also, the rooms were fairly large.
Cons: Some of the rooms are in need of remodeling.
Location: Great location half a block from Michigan Avenue.
I stayed in twice this week. One room was a bit worn out, the other was newer. The location is directly across from the Four Seasons and half a block from Michigan Ave. This can't be beat. The staff was also exceptional. Overall, a very good value.

Very good location and facilities. Only issue was that shower faucet wasn't working properly and couldn't control water temperature. Otherwise excellent experience.
