Older hotel with great service and access

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and location
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and shops.
The Willows is an older hotel, but it is in a great location! It is very close to many restaurants, shops, parks, and Wrigley Field. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I felt very safe staying there. The nightly rate was reasonable too.

Great hotel in great location

Very nice hotel with loads of old world charm. Beds were so comfortable and could not fault the room. Had a very pleasant stay. TV is hard to operate and lifts are slow only pain points

Excellent location

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: staff
Cons: it has older smaller rooms that face a brick wall. Some people complained about the noise in the alley on the weekend.
Location: Wrigley field, Lincoln Park, lakeview walkway
Close to Wrigley and the walkway along the beach. Very safe neighbourhood. Lots of eating close by including both sit down and fast food. Staff was very helpful especially the bellman, Ben. Rooms are small but we did not go to stay in our room. Complimentary breakfast is more than adequate to get you started for the day. Coffee and tea available all day. Would stay here again without hesitation.

First Floor Accomodations

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Front facade.
Evening staff was very friendly and accomodating. Parking is down a dark ally - but the hotel staff actually walked down the ally to point out where to park. Our room was on the first floor - view was the ally. Had to turn off the air conditioner becuase it would turn off and on every 3 to 5 minutes and it was loud. So we turned on the ceiling fan. The single wall switch controls the fan and the light - so I had to stand on the bed to turn off the light to keep the fan on. Twisted my knee coming down from the bed. :-( Continental breakfast was nice - coffee, juice, fresh fruit, cereal, microwavable breakfast sandwiches. Could use a toaster for the bread and bagels. Bedding was clean. Soaps and lotions in the bathroom was a nice touch. Maybe rooms on the higher level floors are nicer? Kind of felt like a nice bed in a halfway house on the 1st floor. Would recommend the hotel if - like us - the regular options were booked.

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us on your most recent visit to Chicago. While we are delighted to read the excellent service you received from our Team Members, we are also disappointed to learn of the issues with your A/C and fan in the room along with the location of your room on our bottom floor. Please reach out to me or any one of my team members next time you stay with us and we will make sure you are on a upper floor. We look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, Keith E. Love the Willows

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The location.
Location: Wrigley Field. Lincoln Park Zoo.
My husband and I loved this hotel. It is small and intimate. Reminded us of some hotels we have stayed at in Europe. Beautiful surroundings as well. Very close to Lincoln Park Zoo. Easy walk to Wrigley Field. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Family trip to Wrigley field. the hotel was wonderful, clean and staff friendly. It's location was perfect, we walked to Wrigley field , zoo and short drive or cab ride to the navy pier. There endless choice to eat and drink within a short walk. The hotel also offer s parking for $22 a day. Great stay.

Quaint little gem in busy Chicago

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff, clean, comfortable rooms, good location/
Cons: Move the bedside table to the other side of the bed to provide more room for someone to get out of the bed.
Location: Lots of restaurants, excellent location for several theatres and easy access to downtown Chicago.
My husband and I celebrated our fortieth anniversary with a visit to Chicago. I was so pleased that I booked The Willows. The d├ęcor was exactly what I had hoped for, old Chicago but not rundown at all. The staff greeted us warmly and were very attentive. They were very familiar with the city and, if they didn't know the answer to an inquiry, they were quick to research and give us as many details as possible. The location was excellent. We had tickets to a show at the Apollo which was no more than a fifteen minute walk from the hotel. Getting into downtown Chicago was a bit more of a challenge but not bad at all for a large city. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance. I definitely would stay at The Willows again if I have the opportunity to visit Chicago.
