Perfect location to everything North Side.......

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
Location: Restaurants and bars are close by. Shopping in a few blocks away by foot. Museums, Aquarium, Parks, Planetarium are all within a short cab ride away
From the close proximity to some of the finest dining and shopping in Chicago (walking distance) and only a short cab ride to the major cultural sites, the Thompson has it all. Great rooms! Great Service Staff! Just a home away from home (but more luxurious).

Great location

Small room, but nice. Overnight parking is just ridiculous $66.00! Perfect location, lots of restaurants, shopping and only blocks from the lake,

Cold shower and expensive, limited room service.

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Stayed in a junior suite and a king lake view room. Both showers the water was barley warm, heck of a way to save a buck. Stayed in a night and wanted to order room service. They have a fantastic restaurant on the ground floor in the lobby Nico Osteria yet the room service menu had 8 total items on it. Not to mention it was the most exspensive room service I have ever order, more exspensive then the Ritz. The portion sizes were so small and was still hungry.

Trendy hotel yet not perfect

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Decor and friendly staff at Reception. Concierge and Bell stand
Cons: Bathroom - only something for a "minimalist" with very little room for any personal items. Friendliness of the staff at the restaurant Nico's
Location: Gibson' steak house, an excellent Chicago style steak house, and the original Pancake house are across the street, walking distance to Michigan Avenue
Very stylish hotel in a great neighborhood , friendly staff at the Reception, Concierge and Bell stand. I had a very nice room with a lake view, as booked. However, the bathroom is something for a "minimalist": it has an oversize sink and very little room for any personal items. My main issue was the hotel restaurant, Nico's. I realize that it is rated highly per the comments on the Internet but in my experience the staff was not friendly and the menu not impressive.
