“Good Deal, Great Location!”
The Travelodge Downtown is a clean budget hotel within walking distance of all major sites for downtown Chicago. Staff was very helpful.
“Can't wait to go back!”
I loved that the hotel was in the center of everything. We could walk to our destination and we didn't need a cab or had to drive our own vehicle.
“Close to Grant Park”
The room was nice and clean. It was nice to have a fridge in the room. The water pressure was kind of weak, but that's the only complaint. Free breakfast was unexpected, but a nice bonus. They limit your choices, but hey, it's free! All the employees were friendly. This was our second time here, and we'll be back again!
“Excellent value”
Compared with other hotels in the downtown area this one is a steal! The rooms are clean and in relatively good condition. Don't expect extra bells and whistles and you won't be disappointed. The hotel is great for someone who needs a reasonably priced place to stay, but is not planning on spending a lot to extra time in their room or the hotel.
“I would stay here again!!!”
It was a nice hotel room for the price.
“What a deal”
This is a so-so hotel, but it is clean with spacious rooms. But the location is awesome. I was attending a conference at the Hilton one block away, and this hotel was less than 1/2 the price. If you're looking to save a few bucks and not planning to spend a lot of time in your room, this is a great deal. Plus free wifi!
“A good choice for a good price”
This is an older hotel, but it was clean, the room was recently refurbished and nicely done. Elevators are old and slow, as expected for an older hotel. Service was good, and all employs I encountered were gracious and helpful. The hotel was in proximity to the places I needed access to. I did choose to park in the Grant Park underground parking garage, as it was slight cheaper than the available valet parking for the hotel, but was still close enough. I would use this hotel again if I return to Chicago.
“went to see downtown chicago”
My Sister and myself wented to see downtown chicago and we wanted to stay somewhere close to everything for little money and we found it this hotel was right by michigan ave and down the street from navy pier and millianium park. This hotel is just right if you are going to sight see and go out more than stay in your room its worth the price. Its a little out dated but I feel it just gives you the feel of old chicago. I would recommended this hotel to my friends.
“Very Impressed”
I was very impressed. The check-out was smooth. Hotel was clean, cozy and quiet. Transportation/taxi to my destination was super easy. If am in Chicago downtown area again - I will definitely stay there.
“Worth the price”
Althought the hotel is old..I thought it gave it character..the elevator was slow but that didnt bother us..the room on the 12th floor was huge! In fact the bed was too far away from the TV (which is old) but the kids didnt mind sitting on the floor watching it..the water pressure in the shower is my only complaint..The kids actually loved the view of the trains and the traffic! We're from the country so they found this amazing..the staff was wonderful and the location was perfect for walking..which we did alot of! Also this is close to the train station so that made it convient too..We're planning another family trip to Chicago and this would be the hotel we would choose to stay in!
