Very modern hotel and great view of Navy PierPosted Apr 13, 2015
Room was beautiful! We also like the lobby/ lounge. It is modern, high class, lively place to relax, socialize, or just injoy the view of Navy Pier and Lake Michigan. Had a Great time!!

Great staff ... Good locationPosted Apr 10, 2015
My friend and I were in Chicago because we had never been before. We chose the W lakeshore for its location which proved to be convenient. We arrived early but they were able to give us an early check in and even upgraded our room to a lake view! The hotel was clean and nicely decorated but the beds weren't as comfortable as they could have been. I would still recommend this hotel!

Terrific location on the lake with a beautiful view. Rooms were small and a little tired looking. Kind of basic and not typical of a W property. Staff was terrific and very helpful. I had expected a better room under the W brand.

Newly renovated..Great area!!!Posted Apr 2, 2015
Pros: Very convenient! I will always look for an Expedia price. The hotel is 'nice' but, not worth $300 a night. Thru Expedia, I paid only $123 a night!
Cons: Probably won't happen, but upgrades to the building materials so they won't peel off.
Location: LOCATION is EVERYTHING in Chicago! I would DEFINITELY stay here, again! Close to EVERYTHING!!!!
Newly renovated. Excellent area! Right on the water and adjacent to Ontario Street AND just 3 blocks from Michigan Avenue! This hotel was in the MIDDLE of almost everything you wanted to be near. Aesthetically, I could see where the design/decor of the new renovation was going. It was a new 'hip' design element but, lacked moderate materials when upgrades were made. Example, the material used on the nightstands was peeling, bathtub enamel was peeling, as well. Beds were comfortable. Coffee was good and COMPLIMENTARY! Didn't eat in the restaurant because we came to shop and eat at the steakhouses of Chicago. I did have a little issue with a staff desk clerk who says he was a manager. I have sent a letter to the hotel and the headquarters and will see how it has been handled. I will get back to you in 45 days to see how the matter will be rectified.

Nice overnight stayPosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Rooms were beautiful, location was ideal, pool and workout room were pristine.
Cons: Put in vending machines or snack area instead of having to go to bar/restaurant only.
Location: There is a small patch of beach across the street, a 5 minute walk to Navy Pier, 15 minute walk to the American Girl Doll place. Great location!
Great location, nice hotel staff. The workout room and pool were pristine; rooms were beautiful with great views.

Great location, beautiful hotel, friendly staffPosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Location: Across from Navy Pier (easy access to underground walkway in the next block), walking distance to Michigan Avenue, Millenium Park, etc.
My grown children and I had an excellent stay at the W Chicago. Close to Navy Pier and downtown, very friendly staff, very clean room. Drinks were quite pricey at the bar.....$20 for a glass of wine??

Best Chicago HotelPosted Mar 23, 2015
My fiancé and I stayed here for 2 nights in a spectacular lake view room. The view was amazing! We were on the 7th floor which is where the pool, fitness center, and most of the meeting rooms were. Despite this, our room was very quiet. The room itself was amazing! Huge shower and an amazingly comfortable bed! The restaurant, Current, is a great choice for dinner. It's expensive but we'll worth it. But be aware of their breakfast. It was expensive and average at best. As far as the location goes it was just a short walk from navy pier, but most of the bus stops to get around the city were 5 or 6 blocks away. But the neighborhood is pleasant so the walks to and from the bus stops were enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience and I look forward to staying at the W - Lakeshore again!

The bathroom shower head was leaking and barely worked.
