W Lakeshore Overnight stay

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: I did order in-room dining and the food and service was fantastic.
Cons: After a 6hr drive it would've been nice to have a room available upon check in, so if they could improve on this point that would be great.
I was there overnight as part of a business trip in the Mid-West. Location was great, by the water, and just 3 blocks or so from Michigan Avenue. The only negative thing was that rooms weren't ready even at 3pm, so had to wait 30-45min for a room to be made available. Other than that, everything was fine.

Enjoy my stay and The W Chicago. The customer service was amazing. I loved the rooms and my view was perfect. I enjoyed waking up and seeing Lake Michigan from my huge window view. Highly recommended!!!

Nice view of the city, Nice location

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Great location, very walkable
Cons: safety!!!
Great location. We checked in and headed out for dinner. When we got back to our room the door was open with all of our belongings inside. The lock on the door was broken. Called the front desk and they sent somebody up to look at it. She was unable to fix it, at this point its midnight and there were no other rooms available, so we had to put a chair in front of the door and hope for the best. The room itself was nice, just a bit of a worry to have a door that doesn't lock, especially at night and when we weren't in the room.

Modern hotel, easy access to top area attractions.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the W @ Lakeshore Dr. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really liked the guest room design and decor, especially the extra seating for entertaining. We also enjoyed having easy access to Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile. There's valet only parking option but it's very convenient.

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff hospitality and attention. Removing debris from rooms and stocking mini bars or removing them
Location: Walking distance to Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue and the North Shore.
Amazing view of the pier and in typical W fashion, a very trendy hotel from an astetic standpoint. Hotel staff was disappointing. I expected a bit more graciousness, but it wasn't to be from the hotel clerk to the cocktail server. I think someone should remind the staff the industry is called hospitality. Our room was left with an empty mini bar and someone left a mini fridge in the middle of the room. The hair dryer didn't work and we had asked for another bottle of shampoo which never showed up. We requested a later check out (1:00pm) which they allowed, however they neglected to reprogram our room key and had an attitude about doing so when we went to collect our things. Honestly at this price point in this area of Chicago I feel there are better options.

This hotel is beautiful top to bottom, with great views all around. The rooms are pristine and the staff is very friendly. Fun bar in the lobby and great food at the restaurant. Will definitely be going back!

Pros: Concierge
Cons: Value for price
Location: Great location, nice views
Brutally overpriced for the value, hotel policies unresponsive to guests needs. Breakfast buffet should be half of cost, comparable to a 2 star hotel buffet.
