Disappointing 5 Star ExperiencePosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Great location, sound proof! Great Views.
Cons: Customer service from hotel front desk and management.
Location: Downtown Chicago, two minutes from Michigan Avenue. Lots of great restaurant choices and fun things to do.
My husband and I live in Chicago and decided to take a Babymoon to this fair hotel, booked on points. The front desk didn't live up to our expectations. Our TV broke during our stay and our bath tub leaked. Overall, not the experience you'd expect from such a high caliber hotel. I realize our expectations were what led to our disappointing experience. But after traveling around the world and staying at a few 5 star hotels, you'd think high expectations would be their strong suit. Overall it was quite disappointing. I'm just hoping that it wasn't because they knew we booked the room on expedia points, because if that was it- what's the point of getting elite status with expedia and taking advantage of the perks from years of travel, on the road 3-4 weeks a month.

One of the best hotels in the USPosted Nov 18, 2013
Location: Fantastic location in downtown Chicago
From the first minute I arrived, I knew I was somewhere special -The Chicago Waldorf offers amazing customer service, and all staff - valet's, bell man etc. refused tips saying "their pleasure and part of the experience". The property amenities all feel and provide a 5+ star experience - the guest room, spa, pool, gym, dining are beautiful.

Beautiful hotel with excellent customer servicePosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: No tipping policy takes the pressure off yet the customer service is the amazing!
Cons: House keeping should make sure to replace what is used.
Wonderful staff with amazing customer service! Beautiful hotel room with fire place was both elegant and cozy at the same time. Is my new hotel of choice when staying in Chicago.

Luxury downtown hotel.Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Excellent location, very responsive staff.
Cons: More care to ensure all room amenities are functional prior to guest arrival. Pool average at best.
Newly renovated and rebranded. Looks expensive, but many of the silver looking room fixtures are in reality plastic. Tub drain did not work. Fireplace did not work; pilot light out. Both repaired, but really both should have been picked up beforehand for a hotel of this quality and price.

Waldorf is a WinnerPosted Oct 15, 2013
Pros: service was amazing. hotel was quiet and very private.
Cons: my daughter is a mature 10year old and could not use the spa facilities other than the pool, which was very disappointing
Location: Gold coast neighbourhood is premium. Tons of restaurants on Rush just around the corner from the Waldorf and only minutes to the Mile
we arrived at the hotel hours before check in expecting to leave our bags. What we got was our luggage was tagged and quickly set aside for when our room was ready, desk staff extremely courteous , provided us an option to upgrade and did get us in early by calling us while we shopped Chicago. When we got there everything was in our room. All staff was fantastic, offering advice, getting us a taxi, providing every comfort we needed or wanted in our room. A hand written note was left on the first night welcoming us. There was popcorn and sprite for our 10 year old as a night time treat and she loved that! We would highly recommend this hotel.

Cons: Not much.......
Location: Location is very convenient to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to Michigan Ave.
Great experience. We stayed with other family members and it was great to meet for a drink in the bar and have breakfast together the following morning. The hotel is clean, well appointed, and decorated beautifully.
