Impressed

The front desk worker that worked that night was very inviting, nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name...But I will most likely make that my number one spot when I visit Itasca again..live bands and fireworks just a walk away literally..perfect!

Westin

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: The staff were excellant and the toiletries were great.
Cons: Needs updating. Especially the carpeting in the rooms and throughout the hotel.
Location: Location was good. O'Hare airport is a little bit of a drive, but overall not too bad.
I have stayed at several Westin hotels and have been satisfied no matter what city I'm in. The Westin Northwest near O'Hare airport was nice, however, they do need to do some renovations. The carpeting needs to seriously be replaced. The carpet in my room had many stains and so did several areas of carpet within the hotel. The staff was awesome as usual. I also love the complemtary toiletries that are provided.

Nice hotel but the courtyard style makes it loud.

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Hotel is nice with simple clean furnishings. It is set up in a courtyard style so you hear everything from downstairs all the way upstairs. There was a wedding the night we stayed there and people were screaming in the hallways until 3am and no hotel staff ever stop them

Old Hotel - More Rundown than would have thought

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: The lobby was nice and the concierge was informative. The room service food was good
Cons: The front desk never addressed us even though we walked in with bags. We had to ask them for help. The bed was never made correctly. Trash in halls
Location: Downtown Chicago walking everywhere or a short taxi ride. Art Institute, Navy Pier Restaurants, High end shopping, Hancock Building Bar 96 floor
The hotel was old. We arrived late at midnight but it's Chicago and it's the Westin .The man behind the counter was standing by the star woods service sign. I had to ask him if I could check in here. When we checked in my wife asked if we could get a lower floor since heights make her nervous. They said they had another room on 4 and that it was bigger. Room 431. Don't stay there. It was a handicap room with no bathtub only a shower (never mentioned). To top it off the hot water leaked and dripped in the sink all night. We had to use the shutoff valve underneath to shut it off. When I told them , they said " oh, I thought they fixed that." We signed up for two queen beds and when we arrived he told us 2 double beds was all that was available. We crawled in to bed and my daughter told us her bottom sheet didn't fit her bed. We pulled it apart and she was right it was a twin sheet. Too short and too narrow. Why would someone make it that way. When we told them the next day nothing was done about it. Oh sorry, we will look into that. We told them to. When we tried to park, they told us there was no self park but valet would handle it. My 3 day premium car rental was $159 but 2 days parking it with valet was $126. I would have just gotten a taxi and rented a car later. We have stayed at Westin in Maui, San Francisco and Los Angeles and they were all first class. We are staying in a Westin in Itasca tonight. Hope this goes better. That was horrible and for a good chunk of change.

It was very relaxing! A prom the first night, and a wedding the second night. We didn't hear a thing. The restaurant was very nice. I enjoyed the gift shop also! Very nice stay!

Bed lacks support

Posted May 27, 2014
This hotel hosts wedding receptions in the lobby with horribly loud piano music (not acoustic, but amplified). All rooms are exposed to the lobby and the music rings into the rooms. No escaping it unless you have really good ear plugs. There are 12 floors and we were on the 11th. It didn't matter being higher up. The bed: At first it seems to be a decent bed, but within minutes your body sinks and you have no back support. I have a bad back so this was pretty uncomfortable for me. My husband's back is fine but he found it uncomfortable as well. On the plus side, if you like sinking into your bed, then this is the bed for you! Staff at front desk is very nice. We were never approached by valet which I find odd, but we were happy to park in the lot ourselves and not pay for valet. We were not offered help with our bags....again, saved tip money!

Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your recent stay. Guest feedback is important to us and your comments will be shared with our management staff for follow up. We understand how important it is to get a good nights rest and loud music and an uncomfortable bed can make that impossible. We hope you give us another opportunity to show you how a good nights rest should feel

Sounds echo all the way to the top floor. They keep the air conditioning controlled so the room is always warm

High School Prom Night but still a great stay

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: The interior of the hotel was very nice.
We loved our stay even though there was a high school prom in the main entry way. This added lots of limos and many well dressed people which made for a festive atmosphere. This added a lot of noise inside the hotel. So we went out for dinner and came back about 10pm and the party was winding down. Everything else was fine.
