Go location, walking path around lakes, room could use more spot cleaning, room view was great, but windows were dirty. Overall slightly above average quality. Better cleaning and spot cleaning of the room would have received an much higher score. I score the hotel 6 out of 10.

Nice hotel close to Woodfield mall

Room was clean and comfortable. Decor was nice. Hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. Pool area is very nice. The gym is not included which was a bummer but other than that no complaints.

Disappointing stay

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
We got a room near the corner on the top floor, facing the parking lot. There were water stains on the ceiling and stains on the carpet which looked terrible. The sheets were more rough than normal from being older and washed so much. The TV reception went in and out and the room just seemed pretty run down. Woke up at 4am hardly able to swallow from the dry air. The worst part was we checked in Labor day to be told that the pool & fitness center were closed due to the holiday. Seriously? It's a hotel- this is beyond ridiculous. I chose this hotel for the pool/Jacuzzi and we completely got ripped off. I regret this choice. Never again Westin! You are a disappointment. Oh and the staff member who checked us in refused to even give us an upgrade when we were so disappointed about the pool situation. Guess customer satisfaction isn't your strong suite. Your upgraded rooms are only bigger in size anyway which isn't even that great of an upgrade when you are staying for one night. Whatever! Thanks for nothing!

Very nice, great value.

Cons: Double paned windows would reduce the freeway sound.
The room was clean and nice. There is some noise from the freeway, but not too bad. Overall it was a very good experience and the price was right. It is 12 miles from the airport and there is no shuttle, so you need a car.

Weekend get away.

Lobby was nice. The room we had didn't have a bathroom cabinet, only a sink no room to place toiletries. No hooks for towels. The whole floor got soaked when showering. And no outlets accessible in the room for hair dryers or electronics charging. Beds were comfortable but only double size not queens. The rooms air conditioner seem to only blow on low even when setting to high. There were two weddings going on and one was in the open lobby and the wedding guest kept elevators full for a long period.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

This hotel was a wonderful place to stay! It was so clean and comfortable. I will always choose this hotel for future trips. It was definitely the best part of the whole trip and I didn't want to leave! It is a 5 star hotel in my book!

PLUSH...excellent experience with excellent staff

Pros: The room was excellent. We booked a 2 night stay. The Heavenly Shower and Heavenly Beds were truly heavenly.
Cons: The only drawback was the walls are paper thin and I think our neighbors had 5 plus people staying with them (there were older people, babies, etc)
Location: It's not that that close to much "Chicago". It's in an area that still looks like it is being built upon. Lots of road construction and shopping ctrs.
The room was really nice, the facilities were excellent, the staff were very helpful with all of our questions and getting us setup (we checked in really late). I do wish that some of their bistros, bar area stayed open later (as well as their pool, we came back from a day trip to Chicago, to find out the pool was already closed). This hotel is kind of remotely placed from Chicago, while the map says it's less than 20 miles away, even on the weekend, it will take you more than an hour to get into the city, unless you know how to use the side streets (Roosevelt will take you all the way in town). Heavenly shower and heavenly bed are to die for, I am definitely in the process of ordering both!

The Westin Itasca

Pros: Cleanliness Friendliness of Staff proximity to the "city"
My wife and I stayed here and were pleasantry surprised how hospitable and well taken care this hotel was. We were in town for the Windy City Pet Expo. After many hotel searched this one was one of the only ones in the area that was Pet friendly that allowed dogs over 20 lbs, we had out 60lb Boxer with us. The hotel grounds were beautiful, they had a walk way around 2 very nice ponds with a water fall, Perfect for having a pet or just getting a nice walk in within a city environment. Although the cost of the Breakfast Buffet ($17 per person) and Dinner were on a the high end (steak dinner $36), the food itself was awesome! The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating to our Boxer, they had a bed and blankets for him upon arrival. Every time we went in and out of the hotel everyone wanted to pet him and give him treats, the Chef even gave him a piece of bacon the morning we were leaving.... All in all I they deserve to be called 4 star!~
