“nice quiet hotel”

Hotel was in a nice quiet neighborhood. It was easy to catch a cab to go to other parts of the city. It was in walking distance(weather permitting) from the magnificent mile with all the great shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant onsite was great. The only thing I did not like was that I arrived early in the morning due to flight schedule. It was 10 am and the staff stated that the room was ready but I would have to pay fifty dollar early check in fee. I paid it instead of waiting until 3pm but I didn't like it. Other hotels have allowed me to check in early as long as the room was ready. Paris Sofitel let me check in after an overnight flight at 730am with no fee. If the room was ready then checking in early shouldn't cause a fee. However if your room is not ready but they are willing to have maid clean it now and have it ready in 30 mins then I could see a 50 fee and would gladly pay it.

Area recommendations

The neighborhood that the hotel is located is called printers row. It is a quiet peaceful neighborhood and safety is not an issue. No loud noises at night from the street below. Generally close to areas of interest and i would stay there again

“Chicago's Best Hotel”

This hotel had the nicest staff I have ever come across in all of my travels. I was especially impressed when my diamond ring apparently fell off in the bed while I slept. I was pleasantly surprised to get back to my room that night to find that the room had been cleaned and my ring had been found and was placed on the bed in such a way that I could not miss it. Housekeeping could have easily taken it and I would never have known, but this woman had the integrity to be honest and see that I got it back! I can't thank her enough and the staff was awesome and extremely friendly during our entire stay. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

Area recommendations

We stayed in the Printers Row area of downtown Chicago and it was a great location for our sightseeing adventures and close to many good restaurants too.

“Great Location”

We spent a week at the Blake and were very happy with the experience. Everybody was very nice and helpful. The doorman was especially great at helping us find restaurants for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

“Nice hotel for the money”

Check-in was speedy and the staff were very friendly. We had four people staying in the room and they provided us with lots of towels. Showtime was outgoing and friendly at the front door. We were not impressed with the way Ron took our luggage for storage on the last day - he was rude and practically demanded that we pay him upon leaving the bags with him. We thought it was customary to pay a tip when picking bags up, which we did. Overall, the hotel was a fine place to stay, the rooms were big which allowed all four of us to stay comfortably. Loved the shower...can you put one in my house?

“So Glad I Chose this Hotel”

This was my first trip to Chicago and I was traveling alone. I'm so glad I chose this hotel because not only was it conveniently located (1 block away from the blue line and red line stops & within walking distance to many other things) but the staff was phenomenal. They were happy to give me recommendations on where to eat and directions on how to get to where I was going - they even printed me a few maps! I had a great experience.
