Run down property with apathetic staff

Pros: Room was spacious. Bed was relatively comfortable with pillow-top mattress.
Cons: Maintenance of the property and training the staff to at least pretend they care about the guests' experience.
Upon checking in, we were essentially dismissed the moment our key was handed to us. There was no information about the property provided or even general directions to our room which were way at the back of a maze of corridors which didn't even have the usual "Rooms 1-50 -->" type plaques at the intersections. In many areas, the ceiling was missing the textured treatment (think of it as large areas where the paint had peeled off). Furniture in the room was beat up to the point that the bare wood was showing through all around the edges and surfaces. The shower curtain was missing some hooks so it was just sloppily hanging and didn't close very well. Could not connect to the WiFi although to be fair I didn't try very hard. The television was an old (maybe 15 year) model Samsung tube TV. It had a lodgenet remote but none of the feature keys worked on it because there didn't seem to be any lodgenet box driving the TV. So there was no menu, no guide... essentially just channel up/down and volume up/down.

1st room was used by staff for smoking. Saw one walk out as I was in hallway heading to room after checkin. Room smelled terrible. 2nd room only smelled a little like smoke. Furniture was broken, and beds were worn out. Tv didn't work and wall around tub had mold growing on it. Faucet leaked on floor in bathroom and springs were coming out of mattresses.

Cons: Hotel room is damp, need on air conditioning.
Very standard hotel, like high ceiling. Internet did not work, breakfast was $11.

Labor Day Weekend

Pros: Room was very clean.
Cons: First hotel room I've been at in years with an OLD outdated TV
Knowing that many restaurants would close early, they could left an option for restaurant or bar to stay open later on Labor Day weekend. There was no where in walking distance to go for a meal or a drink.

Great room but small restroom. You get complementary drink on Mon-Thu just for checking in. Multiple doors made it easy to park the car close to our room.

Neither hospitable nor accommodating

Cons: The staff was not friendly nor accommodating.
Stayed at this hotel as it was chosen as the "preferred hotel" for a family wedding. We drove in from the airport and arrived at about 1:30 PM, about 90 minutes before normal check in time. I asked about the possibility of checking in early and was told, "No check ins until 3PM. Not, "let me see if anything is available. Sorry..." Not, I'm sorry sir we're a little behind and can't help you now", just "No checks ins until 3PM" as gruffly as possible. Most hotels will at least check for you and try to accommodate you, but this hotel made no attempt at all. We went shopping and came back at 4PM with a different front desk person. We checked in and were given one room key. Since I was traveling with my wife I asked if we could have a second key. I was told, "We're short of room keys. You can only have one." Really? At 4pm? And again, no attempt to be polite or helpful. The room was ok but the lighting was terrible. It was difficult if not impossible to read using the lamps provided. The next morning family members mentioned that they missed us for breakfast, Apparently we were supposed to receive coupons for a free breakfast as part of the group. We never received them. I will say that the room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the curtness of both staff members we encountered left a bad taste in our mouths.

great location, clean, staff helpful. BUT: elevator didn't work the first day, no in-room refrigerator, could not get comfortable in this room as there was no ottoman, lumpy bed. room furniture was totally outdated and damaged. No HD. This could be an excellent hotel if it were updated.
