Porter's Restaurant and Bar - American cuisine, including steak, seafood, chicken, and pasta, is served for lunch and dinner. Guests relax with drinks at the U-shaped bar or on the blue-and-cream-striped couches. The walls of the raised dining area are decorated with paintings of tropical scenes.

Atrium - The soaring atrium is surrounded by five floors of guestrooms and filled with tall ficus trees and other greenery. A buffet breakfast is served in the atrium daily, including made-to-order omelets, pancakes, cereals, muffins, fruit, and coffee.

Recreation

Overlooking the indoor pool, the fitness center offers cardio and weight-training machines and complimentary towels. A wall of windows lets plenty of natural light into the pool area, which opens to a sundeck in warm weather. A spa tub and sauna are also on site.

Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course, three miles from the hotel, is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course with four levels. An aquatic park located about 7.5 miles from the hotel features waterslides and other water play areas. Wood Oaks Green Park, with tennis courts and large children's playground, is 3.5 miles from the hotel.

“great”

2 rooms, very roomy. Bathroom was large. Beds was comfortable and there were 2 tvs.

“It has pros and cons”

The suite type of room was great - two separate rooms, one with the beds, one with a living area which is exactly what I needed with a small child in tow. The convenience of a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and two tvs was really nice. However, there was nothing to go with these things - no dishes (even paper plates would have helped), no soap, no rag, no amenities to accompany this mini kitchen. Also we asked for an extra towel one morning, got it and then housekeeping never came back that day. And when they came the following day, they were very stingy with wash rags, replenishing soap, shampoo, replacing used glasses, etc. On a more positive note, the atrium is beautiful, the room sizes are great and sound proof, the pool was nice and the fitness room was sufficient. I would stay there again but would be very clear to housekeeping about what needs to be cleaned and replenished in my room. OH - breakfast is not included, another drawback. One tiny cup of coffee from the buffet cost $3.22, which I bought because the room coffee was awful.

“Needs to get up to date with breakfast included”

People could be a little more welcoming. Needs to provide somekind of breakfast. Seeing signs park at your own rest did not make us feel safe On the other hand it was a clean hotel and the two rooms with confortable bedding was worth the discount price.

“Enjoyed Our Stay”

The only issue we had was that the King Suite room was reserved for 3 people. The sofa sleeper was not made up so we had to request that be done and when we returned to the room they just dropped off 2 sheets on the desk. Also, there were only 2 towels in the room, this never works for 3 people, had to request additionl linens. The one time I counted on using the provided shampoo, they left conditioner & lotion but no shampoo.

“Pleased with our stay.”

I stayed at Glenview suites for 5 nights and liked it enough to choose to stay there again when we had to return to the area the following week. The suite setting was very comfortable, clean and service was good. I was concerned about our refrigerator not being cold enough. They had a replacement fridge in my room and in place in less than 10 minutes. It is also fairly close to I-94 and I-294.

“Everything great except housekeeping...”

Overall, my stay was enjoyable. The front desk (each shift) was warm, gracious and professional...always helpful. The restaurant was great as was the wait staff and the food was fabulous. The downside was the incinsistency of the housekeeping. Out of the five night stay, my room was cleaned twice...after reporting to the front desk. There was a blinking ight in the bedroom that required changing. The front desk arranged to have it addressed immediatley!

“Don't stay here, ever!”

“Would stay at again and again”

Very impressed with the overall look of the hotel. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the suites are beautiful. Nice living room, place to eat and very comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Biggest complaint is the Karaoke bar did not have Karaoke and the hotel boasts 2 restaurants and there was really only one. Breakfast was too expensive. But for over all comfort wonderful place to stay.

Area recommendations

Evanston is a beautul little city/town in Chicago outskirts. Small town with a big city feel. Great shops and restaurants.

“Glenview ... a great place to stay!”

Beautiful hotel. Very convenient, off Milwaukee Ave. Room was very comfortable. No fan in the bathroom was annoying. Odd configuration having to walk through banquet area to get to pool.
