“Great Oroville Area Hotel/Casio Combo”

Room nicely accomodated, clean and organized. Only flaw is the single entry into the casino and onto the 2nd floor for check it. Good place to stop before heading out to Orivile Dam Reservior or Feather River.

“good value great tub”

The best hotel in oroville, and I have stayed in many. I do not gamble so a pool would have been nice. The bathroom is huge and the toiletries are very nice. staff left us a nice rubber duck.

“Nice place. Smokey in the lobby due to the gambing, but not so in the hotel portion.”

We were given an end unit, which was disability friendly. It was super quiet, the bathroom was huge, the room large, and there was a great view of the hills across the road. The only downside for us was the smoking in the casino, but it didn't leak into the hotel several floors above. We didn't go there to gamble, it was basically a buffet/sleeping experience for one night en route to a location to the north.

“Oroville's Pride”

Oroville is a very nice city and the Gold Country Hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly, the rooms were very clean, the bathrooms were spa like and the conference rooms were very accommodating. This is a 3 1/2 star out of 5 star hotel.

“Nice room but.......”

Our non-smoking room very nice and clean, the bathroom was huge. The hotel has a casino that was thick with smoke, which you have to walk through to get to the elevator to go to your room. The only other problem was there was no place outside to lounge unless you paid for a VIP room. The hotel staff told me when I inquired about a lounging area that the parking lot was available. No thanks. I guess this place is known for the casino with the hotel as a bonus. If you have to stay in Oroville, it's probably the best choice.

“Not a great room layout”

The hotel and casino were as expected, however the room layout was terrible. It seems the bed should have been rotated 90 degrees to better match the room design and allow watching the TV while laying down on the bed.

“the smoke in the casino is terrible”

we had to stay in a smoking room, and it was bad , kept us up because we couldn't breathe, the room was so nice too, large rooms very comfortable but the smoke smell was everywhere

“not constistant”

Have stayed here a couple of time the first time it was great. This time it seems that they rushed in the cleaning and didn't do a through job.

“Very nice, but could easily be great!”

This is a hotel inside a Casino. While it's mostly meant for the gamblers' convenience, it is by far the nicest hotel within 20 miles, and could really appeal to non-gamblers, especially, couples looking for a get-away, and people traveling on business. The room was VERY spacious, one of the largest I've stayed in short of a two-room suite. The bathroom was also huge, and included a jacuzzi tub. Since the casino and hotel are new, everything is still in very nice condition. I was traveling on business, and if it weren't for two things, I would highly recommend it. First, it is essential to offer free high-speed internet to business travelers. At the desk they said that internet was available for $9.95 per night, however, when I tried to hook into it, there were no instructions, and even though I'm pretty experienced, I could not figure out how to get any signal and gave up (I had to go to the local public library to read my email). Second, since for most people the gambling is the big draw (thankfully the smoke stays on the first floor), it would be nice to offer a coupon for a free or discounted breakfast. This has become the norm for hotels that cater to business travelers, but would also be great to keep the gamblers in the hotel! Since I need the internet when I travel, and a quick breakfast before I report for work, I will look for a hotel that offers both of those when I return to the area. If no such hotel is available locally, I would return to this hotel happily.
