Good Downtown Location

Pros: Nice front desk staff.
Cons: Harsh lighting over vanity and counter top depth made morning make-up prep a nightmare. Very thin walls, heard things from neighbors I'd rather not!
Location: Close to downtown, campus, and Bidwell Mansion.
Quality Inn has done a really nice job of remodeling this older motor lodge into a very updated inn. The room decor was lovely. Our room had a frig and microwave that we weren't expecting but came in super handy. The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer. Our only complaint was that it was obvious that the room has been smoked in, heavily, despite the non-smoking designation. Absolutely everything we packed had to be washed when we got home. This isn't QA's fault, they can't keep people from smoking behind closed doors, but it was mentioned in the reviews that I read prior to booking, and now I know why. We spend 2 nights: one was quiet, one was interrupted by loud voices outside from midnight to 3 a.m. Again, mentioned in previous reviews, and not QA's fault. We enjoyed being within walking distance of the campus, downtown, and Bidwell Mansion. But if these items aren't important to you, stay somewhere farther away from campus.

Close to town but not in the thick of it

It was a quiet place. Stayed in a boutique hotel last two times and the college parties kept us awake . This was much better and for a better price . Friendly staff as well .

Dripping Sounds

Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: That dripping sound,
The bed was very comfortable, although a bit high off the floor. Bathroom was clean, and plenty of storage space. However! There was some kind of "dripping sound" occurring all night long. Couldn't tell if it was a leak somewhere, or whether the TV or the refrigerator was making the sound, but it was annoying. When people would walk by talking, we could hear them. Otherwise, it was OK.

Good Access

Pros: Location, it's clean.
Cons: Employee courtesy, likely this is a problem in the city. Out of 4 places I have stayed, just one I found courteous employee. Extend the breakfast hrs
The hotel has good access, couple blocks from downtown Chico. My room was noisy, with people walking around and sometime stop by my window for smoking (there where an AC plug near by for "community use"). I got my bathroom flooded when I lay my back on the flush reservoir. Breakfast is served from early morning to 9:30. The services finishes too early for a Sunday!!!!! The add is 24hs coffee, but not effective. The TV channels are frustrating. Despite of few premium channels, they are not broadcast in HD. I couldn't watch football games on Sunday

Great Location...Needs Maintenance

Floor was filthy...had to wear sandals to keep from getting super dirty feet. Room smelled clean when we arrived but 1 glance into the housekeeping supply room (door was left wide open) showed me why: dozens of aerosol air freshener cans were just inside the door. Also, the hair dryer in our room didn't work so my wife called down to request a replacement....took close to an hour for a maintenance guy to show up and he had a replacement for the wall mounted hair dryer...but by that time my wife's hair was dry the natural way and she was not a happy camper. But...the value for the room was good and the location can't be beat. So...pick your poison
